I’m sure they hate my guts. Because around here, you either suck up or get shunned. Don’t you dare ever point out issues or ask uncomfortable questions..
Just shut up & donate, eat your daily schit sandwich and repeat the company line…

Hopefully the message will be received by the right folks. If I’ve offended you over the years on RP… Well, get over it. Find me around the complex for a beer. MAT was (mostly) always just a character to drive conversation, interaction and change. It’s been a ride.. MAT out
The biggest problem for the last several years is they made it really hard to be a Tech fan...
Tommy boy killed:
1. Tailgating with the insane 8:00AM Rule. Decreasing the number of tailgaters exponetially. The Hill is now a shell of what it used to be.
2. Student Involvement by kicking them out of
Hideaway Park over alchol.
3. Dumb digital ticketing making it harder to get into the game.
4. Rearranging the parking lot for "big donors" who never show up to the games to begin with. So they can squeeze more money from the bigs without actually putting more fans in the stands.
NONE of these were ever even considered to be walked back after Tommy boy left. NOT ONE. Which means the President who everyone claims "gets it" doesn't get jack.
For me, the WAC days were the high watermark of Tech football...games were fun. People were excited.
Now its no big deal to miss a game or 4.
It must be a UL System wide plan. SMH
I hope some of the people who sit here and say the university has given up saw the videos of the freshmen convocation, they were teaching the freshmen game cheers, took them throught the tunnel and onto the field, and the class looks huge
Getting students especially new incoming students to go the games and get excited about UL athletics should be the #1 and easiest priority to increase attendance and improve game atmosphere. It is also the most cost efficient way to get lifetime supporters. That is good to hear Billbeck451.
It usually starts out that the first few games there are alot of students, but I have heard first hand they had a bunch kicked out for hackling the opposing team or sitting where they are not supposed to. Hell the whole visiting side is empty, let them sit anywhere. Then it kills it and they quit coming. Hopefully that changes this year and the students are left alone. They are kids, they are drunk, they are loud, they will heckle the opposing team, stand up the whole game and be wild!
This will either be the largest or the second-largest incoming freshman class.
Am I the only one that things they should charge $20 per car to park and only let X amount of cars in. Just park them in the gravel. They could charge $25 or even $30 if they want to. Seems like free revenue.
Not that I necessarily think trying to charge $20 per vehicle is an idea that would work; however, what sort of product on the field are you expecting to see?
Sounds like you've already made up your mind before Game 1 that the product will not be good. Care to share your insight into that?
Product meaning the matchups. This schedule is very weak and to charge $20-$30 to park is absurd for the quality of entertainment that you have already paid for to see [season tickets etc.]. I'm NOT saying UL will be weak, in fact if this team doesn't win a bare minimum of 9-10 games vs this schedule then there are huge problems.
The 2021 season ? Why does the 2021 season matter at this point ? But I'll answer. I made all but one home game in 2021. I did not make the championship game. And what do your questions have to do with my comment about parking ?
I'd pay $20 to park. Just sayin
You didn't just comment on the parking; you also commented on the product on the field.
2021 produced the greatest season the program has ever experienced. I would say the product was more than pretty good.
At what point should folks be charged to park?
Can't say this enough...as a liberal in a conservative world, I think this (the demand for free or at least very cheap) is so hypocritically Lafayette.
