What is a coach to do?
The beer is cold, have another.
This can not be a real post. You have to be kidding me…
The same group that told you that “the committee” was stupid is now reminding you how stupid it actually was. Not only did he not follow it, he snapped a kid’s elbow tonight for a Friday night victory! 100 pitches in 4 days off of a major injury?! Is this dude nuts?
Apparently Theut was supposed to be on a pitch count. They blew way past it. That poor guy’s career might never be the same.
And btw, outside of Theut the dumbass committee DIDNT WORK. Dylan went 5 strong and we STILL gave up 9 runs. AT HOME. In a pitcher’s park.
I feel badly for DT and from the chatter I’ve heard after the game, his parents are LIVID.

Rightfully so. Just sacrificed a kid in an attempt to salvage a season.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
He threw 19 pitches on Tuesday and 62 tonight on 2 days rest.
That’s 81 pitches, not 100.
The rest of your comments are about as accurate pertinent and reliable as your facts.
You have had it out for Deggs for at least two years.
We should consider the source and give your post the appropriate credence.
Good night.

My fault. 81 pitches on 2 full days rest. That’s even worse.
The rest of my post is first hand. I could give a ____ what you think.

So if his UCL is torn that workload is appropriate? Got it.

You have obviously had way too many beers, again.

You are so smart with hind sight. The other guy is smart because he makes up his own facts.
Each of you obviously have a hard on for our coach. That is ok, but just admit it.

ESPN 1420 Louisiana Beats Coastal Carolina 11-9; May Lose Theut
The Cajuns put up 4 and 5 runs in the first and third respectively to power past the 6th ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in the first game of their weekend series. Continue reading…

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
Little League doesn’t even require a 12 year old to have a 1 day rest after throwing 19 pitches.
Let that sink in as you attempt to crucify the coaches.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
Cajuns just had what may be the biggest win of the season.
How about we talk about that?
Looks like Rocco is starting to catch fire. Veillon is on a nice run as well.
Like someone mentioned earlier in the thread, it was nice to see some of those balls that have been being caught in the OF find some turf tonight.
The starting lineup has done a really nice job this week. Hopefully Robichaux can get back in a groove soon. The two biggest innings of the game started with 2 outs and nobody on.
Also, and a 4 spot in the first definitely helps, but the energy was excellent tonight. Hopefully that will carry through the weekend.

Energy was electric at the park tonight. I was worried it was gonna be another one of those weekends where things just didn’t bounce our way at the start of the game. Several balls in the top of the 1st weren’t hit particularly hard for Coastal but just found holes.

In the bigger picture, THIS.
I can live with the walking Lucky in the ninth and the guy behind him hits a tater. But the next two games better strap ‘em up.

This is an excellent point. Because if there is one thing we can unequivocally say it’s that no one prioritizes the health of players over wins quite like youth baseball coaches. We definitely don’t have an issue in this country of kids with ruined arms by the time they are in high school.

Thanks for seeing the light. What an exciting game to have attended.

I will say this…the stadium felt like “the tigue” tonight and not Russo park. Fans brought it. Players brought it even more. Blue calling balls and strikes…well never mind. It was a good night.

The crowd was way into the game, which always helps. There were a lot more fans after a couple innings than at the national anthem.
I am really hoping Ben Robe can bust loose. His swing reminds me of Rocco's smooth, head still swing. He is too good at the plate to stay quiet much longer.
We handed CC a rare loss when they have 2+ bombs.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
Theut injury is haunting me.....when he left game grabbing his elbow. Unfortunately his reaction was nearly exactly like my lefty son when he tore his ACL a few years back and again this year.
I hope it's nothing.....but what I saw was very bad Deja vu.
A typical bullpen session leading up to a return to mound will be 75+ full speed pitches and several of them before ever seeing live game action....58 pitches spread fairly evenly over 5 innings isn't the issue. It sucks but pitching arm injuries just happen.

Re: Game day!! Make or break must win series Vs Covid Carolina!
All I know is that apparently he threw one too many.

It will be interesting to see whether Rawls number will be called to pitch tomorrow after hurling 57 pitches yesterday?

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
Usually I think fans thinking they know more than coaches is hilarious and constantly complaining about them in real time is silly. But pitching this kid 5 innings was dumb, and even a casual baseball fan can see that.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 11, Coastal 9
Good morning folks. Strong Cajuns Baseball and great energy last night. 33% of the mission accomplished. Keep head down. Stay focused. Win. 66% of the objective remains.
We have some awesome fans, just need everybody there lil' bit earlier. Coastal is a coiled snake ready.
Let's Geaux Acadiana.
