I feel left out, haven’t thrown a name out there. Major Applewhite. He has baggage though.

Yeah, just felt left out and Louie Cook was already used, fully knowing the days of hiring a high school coach for any sport at UL left with the fossil.

Nope, though both are proven junior high recruiters...lol.
The last head coach gig I recall seeing like that was ULM hired a h/s coach as their softball coach a few years back.

I can’t find the article and comments, but supposedly the head beach chicken cut his mullet, supposedly indicating he went on an interview.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
I'm going back to what I said yesterday.
If you want to try and figure out where Dr. Maggard is headed, look at the half dozen hires he's already made.
And, he said succinctly yesterday what he's looking for
A man who knows what winning looks like
A relentless recruiter with experience in Louisiana and/or Texas
A man who puts the STUDENT in student-athlete, helping players to leave with a degree.
A man with a high moral compass.
Not a prerequisite: Previous head coaching experience, P5 coaching experience as an assistant, offensive mind vs. defensive mind.
Now if you apply Maggard's criteria instead of your own, there are many coaches that have been mentioned that need not apply.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
..."A man with a high moral compass." That requirement eliminates anyone who's a member of the RPCA...

Who are you thinking will get it, Jay?

I have no idea. The first time I heard Billy Napier's name was the night he was offered the job. And, I was really following that search. I won't be nearly as into it this time.
Mainly because I trust whoever Dr. Maggard hires will be the right man for this job.
I will NOT be surprised if the new coach is someone no one has mentioned. I also won't be surprised if he has been mentioned. I just know that Dr. Maggard has made it clear what he's looking for.
And, he's not going to compromise.

RichRod can't seem to keep his willie in his pants.
Plus his innovative offense he unleashed in 2001 at WVU has been updated and put on steroids 3-4 times.
