Fanof71 has in mind schools who have accomplished this very thing.
They got payed for an away game and then did a home and home.
ps at least one of his kids, went to App State. They accomplished the feat.
Could he post the financials of that arrangement? Im seriously curious to see how it looked?

Besides Southern, not fcs really. We need to make a new trend, times have changed.
Re: Louisiana adds Lamar to 2026 football schedule
So 3 of the top 5 attended games were a FCS opponet.

Yes but lets not get bent out of shape for a tune-up game to start the season

I'm ok with an FCS 1st game. It's the rest of the OOC schedule that I have been critical of.

I have no stake in this fight. I think our OOC scheduling is consistently lackluster. I also don’t mind that we play an FCS opponent.
However, you are being deliberately obtuse here. There are 3 specific FCS schools that will help our attendance: Southern, McNeese, and Grambling. Trying to equate the attendance we can expect from Lamar to games against any of those 3 schools just because they are also an “FCS opponent” is just silly.

Any attendance boost for an FCS game outside of the 3 I mentioned is strictly from the game being early season (many times the first game of the season).
In the same way I’m not going to bash our schedule for including an FCS opponent (majority of teams play one), I’m also not going to praise it for including P4 road games (every G5 team plays those). By that logic, every schedule in the country “ain’t too bad.”

Again, without going to review, we play Tulane, La Tech, UAB, and Rice over the next three years. These are all schools that many/most posters have stated they would like to have as conference mates. Most comparable schools play one FCS opponent; heck even many FBS schools do. As far as I can tell, in a three-year period, the only two scheduled schools that are debatable are Eastern Michigan and Kennesaw State.
