Sun Belt prior to the year 2000 was Olympic sports only....football added to the Belt (2000) and everyone with the exception of UL was a move up from FCS...La Tech was a member of the Sun Belt then but moved on when football was added....

The fact is Sunbelt was losing teams and needed to add and fast and we were the best option. In addition, we are a Texas school and that don't hurt. So let's keep it real...Second, just because I said that we were not happy to end up in the Sunbelt don't mean that we are looking down...I said the main reason why we are unhappy is that we really wanted to be with the other Texas schools in C-USA because it would help fill our seats. I'm glad you keep up with the scoring but I have NEVER said anything about our O because they have been HORRIBLE until last week when we took the red shirt off our fresh QB. I have only talked about our D so keep up...Also I have said several times that you guys have a good team and it would be good for us to beat you...We are expecting to win...
