Exactly. And this too: If Mullen couldn't win a championship at Mississippi St, with Dak Prescott and the roster he put together, no one can win. Mississippi St is about to be relegated back to the dregs of the SEC, as they've always been. There's a reason why they were trying to pay Cam Newton to go there.
Re: Here we go with rumors.
Now back to the thread. He has it good here with a great administration. He is making good money. He has moved around a lot before coming here.
As I said earlier, if he is as good as we think he is, he should remain here until a job comes around where he can win a national championship. Miss St is probably not one of those.

You have got to believe that it won't take nearly 8 years for a right job to surface. Those places that can win one will not wait around that long without having been in the hunt.
Edit: also, he has to win something here to qualify for one of those jobs and he has not done that yet.
Re: Here we go with rumors.
Building a consistent winner at UL or any other G5 program is a near impossible job. There are just too many variables and head winds against you to have long term success. That said, winning a national championship at MSU or any other mid tier P5 school is just as impossible and would take a level of cheating that even SEC schools would be embarrassed by.
As for Napier, it all depends on what his endgame is. If money is the primary driver, MSU or most P5 schools are a good gig to get. Hopefully he continues to win so we can have this problem.

Here's a hypothetical for the site...
If Napier is approached at year end by [TEAM A], and the difference is double his salary ($865K), would you be willing to pay the RCAF to make up the difference?
ICYMI:
Napier makes $865,000/year
Another school offers him $1,730,000/year
Can the RCAF ask supporters to make up the $865,000 difference?
-The cost would be $865 extra for 1,000 RCAF members...

No. I’m sure there are plenty of qualified coaches willing to work for 865k.

LOL, everyone on here would say that they would want to see how he does next year before putting up anymore money.

I’m thinking most potential suitors would feel the same.

Napier doesn't seem like a money guy.. He was more concerned about money for his assistants because he understands what it takes to win. The situation is more important than the program.
