Re: When do we get tickets?
It's a good thing we didn't get invited last Saturday. We would get our tickets on December 28. This is the first event I have ever been involved with that you did not get the choice "best available". You got your tickets and were told take it or leave it. It makes me think that they are still thinking "small time".

I listened to them before they ever had even a demo CD, much less their current album. I've been a fan from the beginning so please, spare me.
I was just trying to spread the love and the good news that a good band from Lafayette is playing for the Bowl Game weekend, and you come in and probably confuse the shiz out of people.
On second thought, I am glad to see that there's another GIVERS fan in the house, but must you be so petty? Reminds me of the hoards of teeny boppers that decided to become fans of theirs after they started playing free underage shows like downtown alive and Festival International. Man I wish they would play Artmosphere and Blue Moon again.
Hooray for them for being a local artist. That's where my appreciation stops. I for one will not be going watch them as their music sounds awful to me and they attract hipsters and hippies.

Well I would not say small time, instead first time. A learning curve will make it better next year. Next what is really the difference between best available and take it or leave it? The priority was announced in Lafayette very early on. They told everyone to quickly buy their options.
These tickets are being sold on a priority basis, and how many regular season tickets you may have has nothing to do with how many you may want. I have two regular season tickets and bought 8 early. It took over a week from the invitation bash for me to get mine, and they are pretty good seats. Point is each sale has to be a custom sale, as the tickets are already printed. Someone has to actually decide who gets to sit where depending on numbers requested, and other issues.
Point is that it is not as easy as you seem to think. If it were then everything would be OKDOKY

The take it or leave does sound harsh but the seats are going to be great! so I say to everyone don't worry bout where you're sitting. They are putting everyone behind the team so it will be good. Just the handling of this is just taking forever. Oh and try not to criticize them too much cause I just noticed I ____ed off some lamer who found my post offensive. What a jack hole. I hope they lose your tickets.
Re: When do we get tickets?
what some people need to realize that lower is not always better in the dome. a 200 level ticket is a better ticket than a high 100 ticket due to the overhang in the dome. some 300 level seats are some of the most desireable and club level seats in the dome and a similar view as suites. I have friends that 100 level season tickets and have been told that my 300 level seats are just as close to the field as their tickets just a little higher and even better seats than their season tickets, so lower is not always the way to go in the superdome.

I agree. My tickets are rather lower than I wanted. Really low row number. Much rather get higher seating in the dome! Mid tier is by far the BEST seating in the dome to watch a game.
Re: Tell me about the Cajuns-I can respond with Aztec notes...
McQ, we put up 34 on Okey State so we will score if given the chance. On the other hand, our defense will give up as many when playing a good team. Other than that, everything else is a secret. LOL! See u in N.O. where both teams will show a bunch of new plays.

I don't see what you're trying to get at with that one. I used that statement to clarify a point I was trying to make with the guy who originally posted something about Givers. Had nothing to do with you.
Re: Tell me about the Cajuns-I can respond with Aztec notes...
Sounds like an old WAC game...We played for years with a top 5 offense and a bottom 119 (then) D.
Okie State, that's impressive for certain!
Creativity is NOT one of our OC's (THE WEAKEST LINK IMHO) approach. Quite the opposite unfortunately.
I won't be in attendance- airline points won't allow. I will contribute to the NO Kids program.
BTW our site is: http://www.aztecmesa.proboards.com/
Check it out- and yes we have our own Village Idiots so don't be thin skinned.

I played in a couple of bands and it was always irritating to me and the guys when people got our name wrong. Anyway, you seem like a good dude (Cajun fan and good taste in music) so let's just let this little spat die right here. It's sort of taking this thread off topic anyhow.

Re: Tell me about the Cajuns-I can respond with Aztec notes...
Most of what I'd say about the Cajun football team has been taken care of ad in depth so far in the thread, I'll just add a few things. When we talk about our TE being all world, he really is, but it may not be as reflective this season as it was in the past 3 because he suffered a few injuries, but he will be completely healthy (probably for the first time this season) in the bowl game. He's a huge target that if matched up on a smaller defender will absolutely punish you in the red zone. His downside is that he's not much of a great blocker when matched up on LB's or DL's, so hes primarily a receiving threat, or if hes on the outside, he can block DBs very well.
Everything we've done has been predicated on turnovers, and by that I mean, most of the season we've been HIGHLY effecient at protecting the football, but we got away from in the game against Arkansas State where we turned the ball over 5 times. Gautier is one of the most efficient QB's in the QB, he makes good decisions, rarely puts the ball in a bad position, can run when needed, and does a great job throwing the deep pass. Gautier may not win the game for us, but he sure as heck will not lose it.
On Defense, our 3-4 started off strong this year, and we were getting a lot of pressure early in the season, but that has fallen off in the past month or so. Its still much better than we we did in regards to QB pressure than we did in the past decade, but not enough to make someone who has a decent offensive line weary. Derrick Dean in the middle at NT is the anchor on our Dline, he will command 2 blockers, which when he's on allows for the ends and the LB's good room to get pressure. Outside of him, in our front 7, watch for Lance Kelley, He seems to be a feast or famine type of guy but he is a big time warrior who wears his heart on his sleeve, considering its his last game, I think he'll be very ready for this game.
Alright, with that said, a few questions for you.
1)When did yall switch to the 3-3-5 and how has that worked out for yall?
2)I haven't really dug into Hillman, so is he a burner or bruiser? I tend to think the cajuns do better against burners (ala Lance Dunbar) than we do against bruisers (ala Bobby Rainey).
3)What kind of crowd do you think yall will bring to the game?
4)Lastly, how are your Special Teams? I mean down to kickoff and punt return/coverage units because in a close game, field position could be the difference in victory or defeat.

Funny you should address me & me only while replying to a post where my" big brother" called me insane. The greatest thing about message boards is the balance, transparancy, & total lack of double standard & fairness they represent.
This is my last plea. Would anyone be interested in working with me to put together a package to send to Marshall Faulk's foundation, or getting with the Brees dream foundation & doing something to match, counter, assist with, or in any other way perfoming a good deed for the community kids in New Orleans in the name of this university?
Re: Bleacher Report: SDSU will blow out UL
I want to get a job writing for bleacher report, I'd be good at writing articles with no factual backing made up of complete bull
Re: Tell me about the Cajuns-I can respond with Aztec notes...
1) In our 3rd year. Came with Rocky Long as he was hired by Hoke to be the DC, he is our HC and continues to wear the DC hat. Love it! It takes smallish, quick athletes to run, a couple of years to undersand and is a bear for any OC. Our LB's are stellar (the Hairy guys-lol) and our DB's play at time as good Cover 1 as anyone in the nation.
2) Burner yet can jam it in hard and will. Kid is special and we have had some real special RB's in the past 20 years. A very patient runner whom knows how to follow his blocks and burst.
3) I bet about 10K. Short notice, lots of Xmas bills, we are a fair traveling team (as of today we are in the Big East so that better improve). Big push for contributions from those of us not going to send $ to support NO kids. Mine is sent.
4) ST- Jeckle and Hyde. Abel will knock the ball through the endzone and miss a 20 yard FG. Punting-our guy is a Ray Guy finalist- he kicked a 70 yarder (maybe 80 cant recal) last year in Wyoming (yes 7200' el) that essentially saved the game.
Note- your HC is very impressive and I am delighted you will retain him and build your program. Ours did more with less at New Mexico for a decade than perhaps everyone in the MWC excluding Air Force with Fisher De'Berry at HC.

I'll have to skip it if they just attract people who care about how long you have been listening to them and whether you know to leave off the "the" when writing about the Givers. Oh I mean Givers.
Re: New Orleans Schedules.....
Sounds like a good time, gonna make for a really early morning since we'll be driving there Sat. morning, but what better way to start off the best day to date in Cajun Football History!

The problem is, if we would have been invited on this past Sunday there is no way they could have done it the same way. On the other hand, why is it when I made my reservations for four tickets THE NEXT MORNING AFTER YOU COULD MAKE RESERVATIONS, (I'm thinking that's pretty early) when I get my four tickets they are on Row 11 of section 135 (end zone corner not exactly behind the team). This is not my definition of best available when a 300 level seat BEHIND THE TEAM would be more desirable. If I hadn't promised my brother the tickets I would have thrown them away and be staying home and watching on TV, because, to me, lower is not better. (I am still in the market for better seats even if it's on the other side BECAUSE I WANT TO WATCH THE GAME not say that I was there.)
As for "not as easy as you might think". Why not sell our allotment of tickets through Ticketmaster and let them handle everything, price the best seats accordingly and let the free market work. The sooner you buy, the better you get for the price you want to pay. Any other performance or event at the Cajun Dome, Super Dome, or for that matter the Metropolitan Opera, works that way, I don't see why it can't work for a the New Orleans Bowl.
Re: When do we get tickets?
If you sell your allotment through Ticketmaster, that is it, after those are gone you can't sell any more for the 50/50 split.
Latest on New Orleans Bowl Ticket Sales?
Anyone hear anything new on N.O. Bowl Ticket Sales, are we up over 15K? I sure hope the dome has more than 40K there. Otherwise it will look empty.

I placed an order for 10 tickets a couple of days ago and asked. Guy said they sold over 15,000!!!...and there's still a week and a half left!!
THE DOME IS GONNA BE PACKED!!!!!! .~. .~. .~.
Re: When do we get tickets?
Since when does an Athletic Department send you tickets on their dime, or Cajundome Ticket office for their concerts give you free shipping. I admit, their needs to be a better way, but HEY, it is our first time in 41 years, and you people want to blast the RCAF and Athletic Ticket Office. Do you really think that you aren't gonna get your tickets in time. NOT.
Just imagine if we had a request for 30,000 tickets. Hey, the options are simple, order thru RCAF or order thru New Orleans Bowl, most of us ordered thru UL so they( the Athletic Department) would benefit on the sales/monies.
We are experiencing growing pains. I remember, one game there was not enough, water, soft drinks, concessions open, security, staff, and so on. With the growth, comes problems and I have to admit, I have been one who has complained and issued my complains in a note to the athletic department. they responded with an answer. If you are not afraid of voicing your complaints to the higher ups, then do it. I believe they will respond in a way that you will accept. They also listen to recommendations of how to improve game day.
We have a good thing going so lets try and stay positive and wait to see what happens for NEXT YEARS BOWL GAMES.
GEAUX CAJUNS.
