Re: Stadium construction pics
Im sure it will be an interesting experience for opposing coaches this year. Walk through a crowd to get to and from box. Sitting very close to fans. So close you can bang on the boxes (not too hard, they may break).

Re: Stadium construction pics
Passed by today, things are taking shape. Will be quite interesting to see how it looks on season opener.

I think what this “super structure” will show is just how big the upper deck actually was. It never seemed that big because the visual from congress, or anywhere not in the stadium, was of just the upper deck. Monroe’s upper deck is a monstrosity as well and if the swamp wasn’t 2’ below sea level Cajun field would have looked just as ridiculous as Malone. I know you’ve seen the overlay of the new stadium on the old and basically the top of the new structures highest point other than the lights is basically where the bottom of the old pressbox was. Much smaller and closer to the field. Those club level views will be fantastic.

Sounds like it.
Hope to view from there someday, somehow.

I would imagine that it will primarily be businesses buying the club seats. Whoever it is, I hope they get sold

Will the lower section extend a little further into the north end zone than before?

Re: Stadium construction pics
Thanks. Good pic of progress. Speaking with someone from JB Mouton last week and they commented that they are slightly ahead of schedule. They had to be off the field by this week so they were focused on trying to complete as much as the lower stands as possible since it is more efficient to pour from field level than pump from above. I am not sure if this has been mentioned but the retaining wall on the sidelines has been pushed in 10-15' to get more room on the field. They will do similar on east sideline.

Far enough for soccer purposes?
Golden opportunity.

Yes. It will now be symmetrical with the east side.

I think we need to look into Rugby team for Cajun Field? Rugby is an exciting sport, watching the olympics some action going on in that sport. Soccer will work as well.

This is kick ass progress.
Need to find the paint code of what the Superdome uses on their field goals. I believe it'd be an outstanding improvement to the pipes. Get Bayou Pipe to sponsor the field goals and Phi to sponsor the wind direction flags up top.

It would look so good if we put 14 flag poles on the visitor side and put the flag up for each school. I always love that look

Couple of more pics I saw on facebook this morning

Re: Stadium construction pics
Is the upper deck only half completed? Looks off center and much smaller than pictures. Is it being built in modules?

It’s not even halfway built.

PHI can barely keep the doors open. They aren’t sponsoring anything.

No, I thought they would build it all the way across like they did the lower deck, not just half.
