i already said that I misread something. I apologize for not researching further. But the point was that even a glorified program like FL is bound to have a down year. They will also recover much quicker than a G5 midmajor like ourselves. But whatever...carry on

Misreading or not it makes ZERO sense to compare what Sullivan has accomplished (who has been a HC a lot less longer) vs Tony. So lets just say FL is 500 right now, what does that have to do with the Cajuns not making a regional in 2017 and 2018 and only chance to make it this year is by winning the Sun Belt tourney? NONE! This was a total act of desperation! Period. At least Goggle something before you make a dumb and stupid post!
Does Tony have 7 CWS appearances & 1 NC since 2010?
Speaking of one down year, the baseball team has not made a regional since 2016. As I stated, now it is starting to shift from not making a regional to having a 500 records by the Tony crew! Keep setting the bar lower and lower for your buddy!

The one with over 1200 wins. I'm sorry it wasn't clear before my post.

He will be a UL Hof and a LA Sports HoF. He has a shot at the NCAA Baseball HoF if he continues to coach. Again, I thought that was pretty clear to people that follow the sport in Louisiana and NCAA baseball.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
I hope Coach Robe makes the NCAA HOF as I think he deserves / earned it!

Stop being an Awhole dude. He is a HoF at UL and in the Louisiana HoF, that's a done deal today. So why ask? As for the NCAA HoF, some believe he has done enough to get votes. I'm not certain, but if he remains in the game I believe it he has more than a shot. Of course you knew this already, so if I was condescending it is because you are being a jerk about it to drag your point out. It's bad and ugly to watch, I get it. He ain't going nowhere right now buddy.

...lWell, as usual, I think it is a roster situation.....who has the best players....can somebody in the know give us a starting lineup for next year and say w/e starters.....now, can we win with them? Sounds pretty reasonable to me!

Now you're being silly.
All of the above.
Not sure why you mention "New Cajun Athletic Attire" though.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
Some of you need to step away and take a deep breath.
I'm talking about those of you who call 35-21 ____ting the bed.
I'm talking about those of you who call a .600 winning percentage bad baseball.
That's what some of you have said about 2017-18. And, that's what the winning percentage was in those two years.
Regional good? No.
But if you think .600 ball is ____ting the bed and bad baseball, you need to get out more.
We've played some bad baseball this year. But guess what? We've played some bad baseball in the past, too. And,, we've always turned it around.
We will turn this around as well.
But get a hold of yourselves. We havent been ____ting the bed the last three years.

There have been 1/3 and 2/3 aspects of the game that make what you say... True.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
There is no doubt this gets turned around. The points of discussion seem to be when and by whom. I am hopeful for sooner than later.

I’m gonna tell you BOP, .600 baseball isn’t good. It’s not horrible unless your goal is being a strong regional contender. If that’s our best we never needed a palace to play in.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
Consistent starting pitching is what’s needed the remainder of the year. We have gotten to the point offensively that we can be serviceable. Coach Wells has done a great job with these guys to get this offense on track the last 10-15 games. But it starts on the bump. We gotta be good on the mound in order to compete. The silver lining is the young guys have been thrown into the fire before some were ready and hopefully they get better with time. I still think we can upgrade the talent at some positions

He's taking things out of context in order to sell his point. .600 in itself is not bad baseball. That's 100 wins in a major league baseball season. It serves his narrative because missing postseason doesn't. The goal is to make postseason, plain and simple. It all goes back to the "Status Quo" thread during the offseason. In 25 years, we are still talking about how we haven't missed postseason 3 years in a row. Sounds like the definition of status quo rather than improving over a quarter century. At what point to we expect not to miss 2 years in a row? Not miss postseason? That would be improvement over time. Can't win a title unless you're in the tournament. Chances of winning a title reduce exponentially when you aren't consistently there.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
31 games since the 1-7 start. We've gone 18-13 (.581). And nothing shows that we'll eventually get over the .500 hump for the season. The next 11 games on the schedule are the toughest 11 on the schedule; 8 of them are away from home.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
We’re not MLB. Those teams have a common draft. In college sports there’s not nearly the balance of power. There’s more dynasty programs. Then high quality competition. Then the rent a win teams. We’re not waiting to become one of the rented.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
Apparently none of you have ever had to clean ___ out of a bed, which is more his point I believe.

I'm not taking anything out of context. I'm pointing out .600 baseball isn't ____ting the bed.
It may not be up to the standard set by this program, but let's quit acting like this program is in the ____ter.
It isn't.
Re: Cajuns' JUCO signees having solid seasons
Oh, and since I started this thread by reporting something I believe to be a positive, let me follow that up with we will be signing more players in the period coming up.
