If you're talking about the boy, that's his mother's fault.

Slamming Tech should be a bi-partisan effort.
No Liberals or Conservatives on this thread.
I am pretty sure Moon is a ULM guy.
Now LTU is saying on Tim Brando Show that the Indy should have given them more time. Reasons to follow:
A: LTU plays many games in Shreveport as a home team regular season like the TAMU game this year.
B: LTU helped the 2008 Indy Bowl by not going to Houston, I think we might remember that one.
C: The Indy Bowl was still going to have Ohio U as an option the next day.
D: They were hoping for a more prestigious Heart of Dallas Bowl, or a strong tradition with of the Liberty Bowl. Both bowls had expressed a strong desire for the LTU team late last week.
Bottom line they felt that they had built up capital with the Indy but seems not.
Brando asked if LTU had been mislead by the other two bowls. The AD said yes, and especially the Liberty that told them they were their choice for the Tulsa opponent.
That is their spin on it, no not wanting to avoid ULM only to get a better bowl did they use up what seems to be very little capital with the Indy.
Later Brando commented that LTU was in fact acting as an independent with the WAC having only one bowl tie in, and when you have that situation you need to be sure about what are your real options.
I'll second Moon being a good guy, despite being a Monroe grad. :)
This helps to explain why the Liberty Bowl chose Iowa St.

1. “This is a wonderful opportunity to host a representative team from the Big 12 Conference, one of the most powerful and prestigious conferences in the country.”
2. “Iowa State has great fans. They set an all-time season record for average home attendance this year at 55,275. This will be closest bowl destination for Iowa State and their fans. We look forward to the Cyclones and their fans ringing in the New Year on Beale Street, which will have a huge economic impact for the Memphis community.” - Steve Ehrhart, Executive Director of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl
I doubt seriously that the Indy Bowl considers what Tech did "for" them in 2008 a favor. ASU or UL vs NI would have sold as many tickets and gotten as good an audience as LT vs NIU; and an ASU/UL game against LT would have packed the house to the rafters, and still gotten the same or better TV numbers.
But they could have gone to Houston VO, Houston!!!!!!! They saved the Indy and wanted a more national opponent. I guess they chose not save the Indy twice in four years. LOL
I am just trying to condense what he said. Bottom line LTU recruits will be hearing a lot from Hud and Berry.
La Tech chose their own fate.
I think the Liberty Bowl made the right decision for them! (Choosing Iowa St.)
La. Tech hangover after this is going to last a very long time!...Geez can you see next year come bowl season...If a bowl selects them can you imagine the hooblah blah that will be discussed...just hilarious!
My oh my. This was a rough year for Tech. They make a play on LSU Shreveport and get denied. Some vet assistant leaves their mascot out in the sun and he croaks (and she lies and makes the mishap even worse). ULM starts stealing all of their north Louisiana glory... Tech launches ahead... climbs into the top 25... almost takes down Johnny Football... are still in the hunt for serious bowls... and they stumble and fall at the worst possible time. ULM snags their first bowl invite right inside the Tech adopted city of Shreveport. Then... with all the arrogance only Tech can muster... they play their cards wrong and screw their football team out of a bowl... with one of their best ever regular seasons. And then... if that weren't enough... their former poster child for Mr. Arrogant Tech Tool of the Decade... Derek Dooley... loses his job at Tennessee. My oh my.
Can you imagine how good it's going to feel for ULM fans to drive through the middle of Ruston on their way to Shreveport?
