This is a very silly take. Once fully completed, Cajun Field will rank top tier amongst all G5 Football Stadiums and will be superior to some P5 Stadiums.

Here's what we know: this is 1970 or '71. Possibly 72? West concrete appears at least 4 seasons (weather not FTBL) weathered. At an absolute minimum of 50 years is the age of the Swamp Oaks. All estimates of course, nothing concrete certain.

I think you are right; I can't yet see the hedges that used to line the inside stadium wall. Also, the parking area doesn't look much used. So this is probably a very early picture, maybe right after construction.

When does TSAB decides enough is enough and takes it all away? Hopefully UL’s dumb ars parochial ULS brethren understands it can happen to them too, providing the ever get away from “knowing their place.”

I keep waiting on the ULS programs to learn one day they have more students and technically more politicians in their direct footprint of voters than a generic “state” university.

From what I'm hearing, UL's R1 status, passing them in research funding, and the rapid progress we're making with doctoral programs, research centers, construction, and political success, has caused a shift in attitudes over in BR.

We still have to keep our eyes open and pursue due diligence, but more and more they are cooperating with us. Their faculty collaborate on various research projects; for some of it, we're the lead institution, and we added them to the project.

With that, although it's not clear yet (at least not from where we're sitting in the cheap seats) how much funding Jeff will get us, I've heard that he's not going to let them pull any stunts on us.

There are only 134 FBS football teams. The new cajun field will easily be in the top 2 or 3 in the SBC, CUSA, MAC, and much more amenities than many in the American, and Mountain West. It will easily be in the top 100 nicest stadiums in the country.

Tailgating was great at that point because of Coach Hud's promotion of UL football. Once he left, it fell apart. Even winning under Napier and a Top 25 ranking couldn't bring it back. We no longer have a promoter to excite our fans and get them back out there.

4 10 win seasons in the last 6 years.

Damn near in contention for CFP G5 spot its' first year.

Accomplishing a 10 win season in a HC first three seasons never happened till the 2020s. It's 2025 and its happened twice.

Playing FTBL since 1901.

Never dropped to Div 1-AA or FCS like all these other programs. Always 1A or FBS.
