Another important aspect is hiring of head coaches. During his tenure, AD Maggard has hired:
Glasco, at a time some were trying to burn down the softball program
Napier
Deggs
Dez to replace a departing Napier
Habetz to replace a departing Glasco
Tommy Badon
Now we’ll see with Badon, Habetz and Dez ultimately, but two of those three were considered home run hires by folks who follow Cajuns softball and T&F. Dez has some of us (myself included) eating crow this season.
Glasco and Napier had success, and Deggs looks to have revitalized the baseball program.
All that brought into discussion, I ain’t aboard the Fire Maggard Train.
Forgot to mention the Marlin extensions. That one is paying huge dividends. LoL

Seems like everyone likes taking the easy way out.
That doesn't mean they should, or for that matter even need to.
Lazy scheduling is in vogue.
If its any consolation, I did say "limit FCS opponents."

His insight was a disillusioned idea that a P4 school would pay us millions two play them twice over there then return the trip to Lafayette. I guess we are living in a fantasy world.

I'm pretty sure that is not what Fanof71 was saying.

Well he talked of 2for1s which is almost guranteed for us to lose money. Probably not the best thing to do while we are in the biggest capital project of this program's history.

Do you also think agreeing to a bad financial decision in hopes our community shows up to 1 game is a brilliant strategy? Look man I am open to upgrades but 2for1s aint it.

True we are late to the game to be thinking about whats most lucrative long term, but late doesn’t mean its too late.
Fanof71 has in mind schools who have accomplished this very thing.
They got payed for an away game and then did a home and home.
ps at least one of his kids, went to App State. They accomplished the feat.
