Re: MBB Final: UL 87, UNO 65
Marlin said it last night during the postgame interview. He likes keeping the old in-state rivalries alive and he likes the short in-state bus rides. I don’t blame him.
UNO is a particularly nice away game for us too. It makes for a fun trip for fans and our NOLA alumni can attend.
The problem with our home schedule isn’t UNO and La Tech. Its Loyola, Louisiana College, etc.
Re: MBB Final: UL 87, UNO 65
Honestly playing home and home instate is a no brainer. Between UNO, McN, Nichols, Tech, SLU and NSU that is 3 home games a year. Wish we could get Tulane into our rotation.

I will give you one. We beat UNO and our RPI dropped 30 spots. When we play Southeastern, it will drop another 20. It dropped nearly 50 when we played McNeese.
The only teams in the state worth playing are LSU and Tech.

And I totally disagree about whether to play UNO. There's too much tradition there...all the way up to 2010. Even our younger fans remember some of those games.
I don't care much about playing SLU, Nicholls or even McNeese.
But UNO and Tech should be on the schedule every year.
We need to hire Tim Floyd to walk the sidelines near the UNO bench every time those guys come to town. Did we ever love to hate that guy.

Well, to be honest, the belch will never be more than a one bid league anyway. To me, the value in attracting fan interest overcomes the loss of RPI. Heck, most of our conference mates, who we are required to play, do more RPI damage than any in-state school.

No, they don't, at least most of them dont. And I am not worried about an at large. I want a good RPI so we have better seeding when we get to the tournament, so we don't get a 1,2 or 3 seed in the first game.

My point is don't schedule garbage teams. Our non conference strength of schedule is ranked 324th of 351. That is totally unacceptable.

Soon we will be in conference play and I believe most of those games will be on ESPN3 which thankfully comes with the chromecast extension.
You should be able to cast any tab/window from Chrome.
