I was talking exclusively as a non aligned customer. The place is just past it’s day, parking isn’t friendly among other things.

I don’t agree with Jay about lack of fan interest. Unlike many coaches shows the format doesn’t help grow fan interest.

Fans want to interact with the coaches. That should include a couple of fans at the location, and phone in questions. Unfortunately they don’t want to spend the money on live phone questions and fan-coach interaction. An alternative could be Mike, for example, with a pre recorded question from Port Barre.

Regardless it’s not happening and like crappy basketball schedule can claim it doesn’t move the needle.

Years ago at Pete's, you could ask live questions during the Coaches Show and they even had a "Question of the Week" giveaway.

I used to have fun at the Walk On's coaches shows. Admittedly haven't been to one at Pete's, but I can see how the layout could suck with the interview taking place in that little alcove in the front.

This should really be its own thread. While it's great that Pete's is a 'Cajuns first' place, the execution is horrendous. Prices are outrageous, for starters. No way a "family sports grill" should price families out of the market. 4 Burgers, 4 fries, 4 drinks, 2 beers: $70+ after tip. Insanity. The last time my wife and I went, had a few beers, an appetizer and got a bill for $40. I think a Michelob is $5.50 on draft. CRAZY

On top of that, the service is mostly bad (outside of a few regulars), the food is average, the selection is meh, the views and sounds of the games aren't ideal and to be frank, when the workers see that the clock is nearing closing time, they will do ANYTHING they need to in order to get you out of the building. I'm not kidding when I say, our last waiter was literally picking up half drank glasses of beer off of our table when the Cajuns game ended. Mass exodus of people, but a smattering of tables left at the same time. Billy is literally giving the post game, and dude drops the bill off and starts bussing our in-progress beers. There were other things but that was the most egregious.

It's a shame because we won't go anymore. It's 5 minutes from home, supports UL and is a unique place to interact with other Cajun fans. The place could be so much better.

Agree with those saying the Coach's show format could be a lot better. Agree that people should be able to call in or at least pre record questions for coaches. At very LEAST, take questions from the audience.

Funny you say that about trying to run you out of the building towards closing, that's been my experience when I go watch games that end close to 10 PM there.

With live home games and the advent of most games being streamed most people do.not rely on you as much. Tonight all I wanted is the pre game Deggs interview and the post game. You got half because you pre-recorded. The post game was inexcusable you should be ashamed of yourself. And you wonder why your stations are failing?

Why are you so whiny? Did your mom not breast feed you enough today? Uh oh sounds like someone needs their diaper changed!! LOL

In all honesty, I don’t blame them. This is not a knock on you (and MAT), but when the restaurant closes, those workers probably have another hour of duties after closing time & are trying to get home just like all of us at our jobs.

Well, I'll own the malfunction. I'm bummed it happened, but I'm certainly not ashamed of myself. Equipment sometimes doesn't work. But I''m good taking the blame.

And, you are correct that fewer folks rely on radio. But you're way off if you think people don't listen. Many people choose to sync the radio broadcast with their tv, especially when the Cajuns are out of town. Many believe baseball is a radio sport...and lots of folks bring radios to Russo Park because things happen during the game that we can explain. (I know about that because if the producer fails to turn off the delay, we hear about it.)

And, I don't work for KPEL and haven't for two years now. They are the vessel that carries the games. They aren't "my" stations. I work for Learfield.
