Coulda have started for 2-3 years here, and had a chance to make names for themselves. I will never understand this...
Oh well, bring on the new recruits! _
This tells you how good of a program LSU has. I understand it clearly.

Personally, I think its the best so far(on paper). Time will tell........ _
Along these lines, who played last year as freshmen and will return and who redshirted and will be RS Freshmen that we will count on to play??????

My comment was tongue in cheek. A few of us really wanted Bates and Johns. I was just making myself feel better about losing those two.
Re: Parrott Blog: Running thread on UL's recruiting
Javon Lawson really came on midway through the season, so I think it's reasonable to expect him to have a sgnificant comtribution next season.
Re: Parrott Blog: Running thread on UL's recruiting
WR Javone Lawson was the lone true freshman to play in 2009. (RB Rob Walker would have played if not for the academic issues.)
CB Melvin White signed in 2008 but sat out one year to become eligible and was a sophomore this past season.
UL's four 2009 junior college recruits - DT Jordan Topp, DL Tyrell Gaddies, WR Andrew Joseph and WR Vernon Wolfe - all played as well.
The coaches had a lot of good things to say about DL Brandon McCray, LB Andrew Hebert and LB Brandon Nash. The thing is that what happened last fall won't matter near as much as what happens over the next few months.
The picture will be a little cleared once spring drills get here.

If you never get to showcase your talents, or more importantly, contribute to your team on the field while playing the game you love, whats the point of the OTA's, the two a days, the grueling practices, the tongue lashings, the lack of freedom to do other things?! IMO, if I was a recruit, I would choose opportunity over prestige any day.

FooFoo.....25 recruits signed LOI by 12:30 should make you feel better. Now there is no more wait for the rest of the day.. Just a fullfilling sense of success and and celebration :)

I agree with you completely. Speaks a lot about a program when an athlete puts all that aside just to say they were on a certain team.
Re: Parrott Blog: Running thread on UL's recruiting
Ok.............Now I want this Houston Bates kid at UL.... Ya'll talked me into it... Don't worry about him, we all know the pull g/f have. I mean do I really have to mention the pitcher from LSU coming to UL to reunite with his lady love.....It will be another romeo-julliete story in due time friends.............:)
