From what I understand the overall scoreboard will be only slightly larger that the old board. However, at least 1/2 of the total board will be a LED board for video, etc. In addition, much of the rest of the board will have LED capability as well. It will be very nice.
Hopefully we take care of the control board and keep it from getting stolen!!!!!! LOL!!!!

Actually this piece is the bottom portion of the LED board that will be for video! The innings have their own sections, you can actually see them on that piece just to right of this one if you look closely. In other words, this video board is going to be huge! Man I can't wait!!!

See the 2nd pic in the top post of this page. You can see the board with innings 8, 9, 10 then Runs, hits, etc. That's going to be a standard scoreboard with individual LED number sections for each inning.

Didn't realize how big the video board would be until I realized the length of the original scoreboard wasn't as big as the beams make it out to be (used to have two huge adverts on each side), and skewed my idea of how big it would be. Can't wait.
Re: New scoreboard at the Tigue
Yeah, it will effectively be much bigger, but still on the same frame. They will brick up the posts and the board later on after the season. Should look very nice once its all complete.
Re: New scoreboard at the Tigue
The new board will be approximately the same overall size as the old board, but fully half of the new board will be video with the other half being game info. The bare board will be installed initially. At a later time, there will be a "topper" added that includes the old clock (working), as well as promotional signage on the sides. In addition, all of the drill pipe support system will be enclosed by brick. Having the support system already in place, as well as putting off the signage and topper to a later time, means they were able to dedicate much more money to the scoreboard itself. This means you're getting a much better scoreboard than $375,000 would normally supply.
