Rainey didn't kill us, the QB did. As stated a bunch of rainey's yards came after it was basically over and we were trying to strip the ball.
this is making me even more worried about their crowd. I would think we would need at least 5K to break the attendance record.
Much Respect to SDSU!!! This is cool!!!
All the more reason for us to take it upon ourselves to put a great crowd in the dome. The truth in all this, I don't care what else is brought, this is about putting our best foot forward, and I want to break a single team attendance record for the NO bowl. This will pay huge dividends in years to come, and this will prevent us from having a situation that we had in 2008+9.
With the options you have in Lafayette for a good time people headed for the library...the library. Kids these days.
is it ok if I still worry for all ya'll then?
Yes, JB, you may do the worrying ... I am ok now that I see our admin is stepping up (again) big time! If Hud leaves us, it is definetly not because we didn't try to keep him!
I learned a long time ago not to worry about anything I had no control over; it is now out of our control.
You can call it what you want. I guarantee you in two months if a UL coach is sitting in the home of a potential recruit from a part of New Orleans where those tickets are given out & that recruit is being courted by SDSU or anyone else for that matter. One of the first questions from mom, grandma, auntie, or whoever will be that they remember UL playing SDSU in this game & what SDSU did for them or someone in their family. What did UL do?
Wow a college with some class, not really used to seeing that. I'm really impressed. Hopefully they keep that class when we tourch them on the field...
According to one report, SDSU will be invited to join the Big East (thats like a team from Louisiana in the Western Athletic Conference...thats dumb!) along with Houston, SMU, Boise, and UCF. That would mean that we "kind of" got our wish and will be playing a Big East school in the NO bowl.
Soooooo.....I guess they will play in the "western" division of the Big East.
Yup...just like La Tech plays in the Eastern Division of the Western Athletic Conference. This realignment stuff is dumb.
UL won... that's what they did. And they did it with a raging crowd that will also be back here to see you play in the NO Bowl someday. Oh, and if you need free tickets to the NO Bowl... how much are you saving up to go to San Diego to see your son play, mom? Are you going to purchase the full suite of college football access so that you can watch SDSU play? How about you just take a Saturday drive to Lafayette with the rest of the family and watch your son play? And then... how cool is it when UL comes back to the NO Bowl, again, and all of your friends and family get to watch him play? Now... back to your son coming to UL to play football.
These tickets are being paid for & given by people that aren't attending the game ... and they are being given to kids, not any potential recruits.
What the KIDS will see when they get in the dome is a HUGE UL crowd ... THAT is what they will remember.
It is a classy move by some SDSU fans ... that is something I will remember.
-------------Now did ANYBODY notice the most significant thing in that entire video-----I think that their mascot will be very welcomed by the Krewe de Chew at our pre-game party---that aztec dude's head piece will be the envy of the party when the rooster dance happens---Paging all members of the K de C ---contact this guy now!!!!!!! BTW it is at about the 221 spot!!!!
I think it was mentioned in another thread, but wanted to let everyone know that Alberston's on Johnson has a nice selection of bowl T-shirts (short and long sleeve, few different styles) much better then either Academy. I spoke with the manager who wondered over after seeing me with an arm full of red shirts, he said they were making the shirts locally and were selling them like hot cakes. Was nice seeing a sea of Red drown out the Purple and Gold for a change!
I wonder if I paid the frieght if they would ship a couple to me in NC?
Spoken by someone who obviously doesn't understand jack crap about recruiting. We are not talking about exploiting cancer victims or the victime of a tragic accident here, we are talking about using the power of an institution to have a general positive impact on a community & let your name be recognized with the degree of separation necessary to ensure that no NCAA rules are broken. Giving something to a sector of potential future fans in the heart of Tulane, LSU, & USM country without personal contact with any individual from the school is a stroke of genius.
I also give SDSU credit for a great idea. Promote community involvement & get recognition for your school at the same time. Be honest, if this post or series of posts were being made by just about anyone else on this forum you guys would be lapping this up. I have come to understand & accept your small mindedness though.
Dave,
If they don't send me a PM I can pick up what you need and ship them to you.
