Well since Cricket games can last for days that isn't surprising.

No clue! I've seen it played a few times in my travels and actually ended up on a flight out of Europe with the cast and crew from "Million Dollar Arm" which is a Disney movie about cricket players being recruited for baseball. Made for interesting conversation on the way home.
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
I've had cricket explained to me by an Englishman that I work with. Basically the "batter" is in the middle of the field and allowed to hit the ball in any direction he wants. Obviously, it is hard to hit the ball backwards, but they do it sometimes.

Baseball players are much more advanced; they seem to hit it behind them more often than in front of them (he,he).
It is a shame the cricket players have to use boat paddles instead of bats though.
Re: Construction Cam is Up!!!!!!!!
The shape of the paddles allows them to hit the ball backwards....which is why there are fielders positioned there. Watched a lot of cricket while living abroad. The 1 day test matches are very good. Lots of action! On the other hand, the 5 day test matches are so boring...batters trying outlast the bowlers (pitchers). And, after 5 days, they can still end in a tie!
The thing that got my attention was finding out if the batter is hit by the ball and is considered to be blocking the wicket, he's out. Its a wicked game sometimes!

I worked with a guy from India he would tell me about the 5 day matches I did not believe him
