BTW, a 3 finger combo with fries, bread, sauce and a 22 of drink is less than 10 dollars at Cane's. But 12 dollars for just tenders (and not very good ones) is a real steal.
What i gather is there are people on this board who do not want things to change. They will fight tooth and nail to stay exactly the way we are.
They do not want progress they will fight anyone who comes up with ideas, they just want to put down and belittle anyone who is trying to change anything when dealing with this University.
I couldnt tell you why? Thats fine if you want to poo poo peoples ideas but at least if you gonna do it offer up better alternatives.
With dwindling attendance numbers and Sports running a 12 million dollar deficit tells me things need to change.
We gonna have to grow to stay viable.

That’s exactly what I do and I’m fine with it personally
The issue to me is it’s effect on the overall fan experience which hurts attendance

Great comparison. The same from Sodexo is double that amount.
Not worth buying anything from them, ever.

They offered affordable concession prices during the 2021 season. It did nothing for attendance and people _____ed about long lines. Just a constant _____ fest

I think its much deeper then that. Its not always about cheaper prices.
So if I go to a baseball game knowing i be there for at least 3 houra, 6 or 7 if its a double header.
As a person are you gonna want to eat stale nachos, or do i want variety and quality?
So i am gonna eat lunch will i pay more to get a philly cheesesteak sandwich and a drink, or fried catfish and fries vs some stale nachos.
Both has there place and all i am saying is i think more people would pay more for the cheesesteak sandwich or a fried fish plate vs the nachos.
fun fact: do you know why they called baseball Americas past time?
Before cell phones and television it was a way for people to past the time.

I had loaded nachos friday night...they were actually pretty good and not bad for $7.75

Re: Should UL get rid of Sodexo?
I really don't understand the logic behind the idea that we have to be capable of feeding 20k people on Saturdays, nor do I understand the need to have a meal during a sporting event. Other countries don't do this.
Drinks and snacks like popcorn, peanuts and chips should be available. Other than that, food selections should be provided by food trucks and fast food vendors.
The best solution is like I always say. Just let people come and go to the Tailgating area as they please. Solves EVERYTHING.

Whats the point? I dont go to baseball games for fine cuisine. I go to watch ball and eat a little something to satisfy the hunger.

Okay, are we not trying to build our fan base? Or are we trying to reach more people?
For someone who is going to The Crawfish Festival, Festival International, or any of the festivals around the area, what is their main purpose in going?
Well, if I go to the Crawfish Festival, I'm probably going to want some crawfish. What's a Crawfish Festival without crawfish?
If I go to Festival International, I'm probably going to listen to music, but many people also go to try all the food from restaurants around Acadiana.
Our focus should not just be on attracting Cajun baseball fan who already attends games. We need to broaden our horizons and start pulling in other groups to get them interested.
That's part of broadening our horizons and trying to grow the fan base.

Its a sporting event not a food festival.

I bet almost 99% would treat their family and spend $140 at a nice restaurant like Deanos, versus sitting at McDonald's, paying $40, and treating the family there.
Now, both have their place. I think if we offer better dining options, more people would spend more money, resulting in a bigger profit margin.

Bad news travels fast, good news takes years to change lifestyles. One would be amazed at how few knew about the $2 natties. For sure 1 year trials won't cut it.
Edit it might if there is a big enough advertising campaign.

If it works and people are spending there money at Cajun sporting event vs going eat out before the game then its a win.
If you are getting more people to buy your product, well it is what it is you will always have people complain.
Complaining is not the issue, as a business how do i grow? Coaching isnt it all that it is? Complaining?
Well thats how i grow! Take the Criticism and improve your standards.

One of the biggest hurdles is Sodexo there has to be a way to restructure the contract!
This poll should say it all !

It begins to make sense if UL is taking a 50% cut of every dime brought in.
Even at that point Sodexo is still more profitable than Canes.
Sodexo has no architectural, infrastructure, property tax, or electricity investment to recover, whereas Canes does.
So at half the current price mentioned, they still make more money than Canes.
Just my quick math

Re: Should UL get rid of Sodexo?
One of Robes biggest things was having local restaurants at the stadium . But with the high percentage that has to be given to Sodexho , it’s hard for these local restaurants to come and sell good food at a reasonable price .

Bingo.
Sodexo is the problem.
The Contract is the problem.
