Cajuns get a fg in 1st,3rd,and 4th quarter.
An odd game. How else would we get a win in Hattiesburg??? Looking at stats you would think we won by 30.

Glad to finally beat USM, but the team played super flat at times, play calling was also pretty flat (thankfully dre looked damn good running the ball).
Those JMU fans are insufferable as neck fans. They’re talking about they still have a path to the playoffs. Yes they outplayed ULM by a mile, but scoreboard only matters.
As long you are still in contention for a conference championship you have a path. A very small one as it appears the MWC or the American will get the 5th highest ranked conference champ this year auto bid, but stranger things have happened and there is a lot of season to go.
I'll gladly take the W. This was a trap game all the way. We didn't play at nearly our potential, but we played well enough to win going away at a place where we hadn't won in 35 years. Wasn't the prettiest, but it was good enough. On to Appy State.
That was the most dominant 10 point win I have ever seen with the Cajuns…. The defense ate well!
I'm happy. we beat those sorry mothers at their house
it was a good trip, the UL fans took over 4th St Bar before and I'm sure they ended up back there after. The USM fans were nice this year, but it may have been that I was in the middle of a section that was full of cheerleader and dixie darling parents, the band before was good. The concessions were horrible just like each time I've been in that stadium. I got to spend the game with my daughter who is a usm graduate. The play was good, we dominated this game even if the score didnt show it.
I was texting with a friend who is a big usm fan and he really wanted us to destroy them this year so Hall will be gone quicker.
the drive back back to the coast was even smooth last night
Now its time to put in another week and its time to put another W against App next week
Bogging down in the red zone is worrisome. Missed tackles again last night. Maybe not as many as previously but USM is not a good team. Hope we play to our potential against the Moonshiners.
A win is a win. It seemed Des was pretty vanilla with his play calling. We were moving the ball fine but had some costly drive killing penalties on offense resulting in punts. Definitely need to clean that up because that won’t fly against good teams. I’ll chalk that up to it being a let down week after beating wake.
Des will get the team ready for next week. App is not very good this year either but they can score points so the Cajuns cannot leave points on the board and settle for field goals.
Also, not sure why we throw the fade to Broussard all the time. It doesn’t seem like he beats his man and we are hoping for a PI call almost every time.just my take.
I loved the game of football it's a sport of adjustments.
It's extremely obvious who came into the game with the better game plan. Louisiana
USM adjusted for the third quarter and that worked for them, then Louisiana made good quality adjustments that countered USM's in the fourth quarter. Enough to put the game away.
Fun game football is.
We definitely consumed clock better this game.
Any body feeling different about Dez from the pre-season?
That's not unusual. Losers only following winning teams, while only winners stick by a losing team. I've been at LSU in bad years. their fans are suddenly much nicer.
Maybe, but USM does one thing that I have repeatedly asked our concessionaires to do: they put in 'grocery lines.'Quote:
The concessions were horrible just like each time I've been in that stadium.
You don't walk up, order, and wait for your order to be prepared. Instead, they have barriers that form a line, and the food just sits on the counter. Grab what you want, head to check-out.
We already do that with beer. Why not with food?
It takes a while for a coach to build his own culture.
I've kept out of a lot of the discussions here, but one thing I've noticed is that unlike some of our past teams, this one doesn't play to the level of the competition. We played strong against the first two, got snake-bit against Tulane (but still kept it close), stuck to our game at WFU, and maybe a small let-down at USM.
If you compare to past years, this team is better at maintaining focus, and intensity.
Which reflect Des's personality. He's building a good foundation
