As fans we can hope all for a better product on the field but we do not control any out come of a game for the most past because we SAY the cajuns will win or say positive things. My post has to do with how a lot fans need to wake up and realize a change needs to be made. It will only get worse. Go back and looks at things. Each year, the baseball program has got worse.
We are 1-6 do you actually think this team will make a REGIONAL?

Duckman, very clever. There are a number on here who deserve this treatment, however, Victory is not one of them.

And you are entitled to your opinion that a change should be made now. However, it’s is silly to criticize long-standing fans for actually rooting on their team. Tony Robichaux has done a lot for us and many of us have tremendous respect for him. So pardon those of us that are rooting for him. Even with his current performance being terrible.
I don’t know you or your true intentions but your posts give me the impression you would prefer Robe to fail. Maybe that’s not what you want but you should maybe reflect on your posts.
As far as do I believe we make a regional, I don’t know. The odds aren’t great as we stand, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility. I definitely can’t say with certainty today that we won’t make a regional. I’ve learned my lesson in judging college baseball teams too early.
All that said I agree with you on the trend over the last few years. We have never completely recovered from losing Deggs IMO.
If things stay this bad or get worse I would certainly be open to changes being made at the end of the season. I don’t agree there is any coaching change that should occur during the season.

I’ll be at the ballpark supporting like always all year, but these guys are gonna throw a hissy fit about the “doubters” when they see how few of us are in those bleachers as the season goes along if this continues.
Despite the aweful play, Robe had them in the running until the end. That is a substantial considering what he had to work with.

Very simple, if the baseball team does not make a regional should ROBE have another year?

So your comments "considering what he had to work with".....who is responsible for this per your statement??

Oh, he is responsible for the players he has on his team, but on the other hand, he does gets credit for what he does with what he has, even if he misses.

I don’t have a simple answer for that question. My last post I think lays out where I am.

So for example, if he cannot recruit a closer but he did try then he gets a pass????

Oh, he tried and he recruited and signed a closer, however he may have missed. How many misses he gets, I don’t know. I’m just not there yet.

No mental toughness then and nothing we’ve displayed this year is leading me to believe that has changed.
Exactly, this is going on 3 years now!
BTW, I have never seen a group of fans as some on here that are so MESMERIZED with a coach!
Re: BB G3: Louisiana @ Sam Houston State
Let's hope the team can start a winning streak by beating the Hammond Lions!

A new type of fan to me. While I might not be happy with a coach, I never hope the team he or she is coaching loses. That would mean I'm openly hoping one of my program's teams loses so the coach will be terminated. That is a loser mentality!

How many high school teams have closers? Heck how many travel teams have closers? Not sure the talent pool is as big as one may think to go find a “closer”. They are usually found by process of elimination at the college level

SO you are a fan because you keep thinking things will turn around and I guess I am not a fan because I do not think it will!
Problem is, it seems the fans that are still in the wanting to believe are the one crowd likely have some type of relationship with the coach which I guess is understandable.

People love to say the whole thing went out the window when Deggs left but that 2015 team is hard to ignore. They lost about everything you could lose and still made a Super. The 2016 team missed a Super by 1 game to the World Series runner up. There’s a standard with UL baseball, and the only reason it is as high as it is is because of Robe. I think he would be the first to admit that he gets no lifetime pass and has to live up to that standard. Like i said earlier my best guess would be he has this year and most likely a couple more to right the ship.
Well said.
