Cajuns RPI at #15 now.
McNeese's RPI (unofficial) is all the way up to #57
Nicholls is down at 227 though.
Do we let the bullpen handle Tuesday and start Guillory on Wednesday?
What we don't want is LSU to get hot and host then we are sent there as the #2 and SLU the #3 seed. They would be a tough #3 seed. Although LSU as a #1 this year would not be as tough as usual. LSU might have a hard time coming out of that regional. A lot of pitchi depth between those 3 teams!
If some how we can catch and pass So Al and win conference with a top 16 RPI or better it's not out of the question to host. But we have a lot yet to improve on, yet we are in decent position as of today.
I'd be surprised if it's not Harris Tuesday and Guillory Wednesday.
There's a lot of rain in the forecast, especially Wednesday. It would be a disappointment to get Wednesday rained out, especially if Tuesday isn't.
I am sure if you asked them, they would simply be happy to be in the postseason. As it stands now, I think they would be on the outside looking in. But they have enough schedule to get there (assuming they do not win the SLC Tournament) if they keep winning.

I hate their squad. There was waaay too much cocky, especially from Fisher. I realize the kid is leading the country in hitting, but he needs to calm his ___ down. Way too much show. Win the SLC before you start bat flipping and showing people up.
Having said that, the way they PLAY reminded me of several of our teams in the past. Hard nosed, capitalized on mistakes, constantly putting pressure on opposing pitchers...
Good college baseball game today.
LSU has a very favorable (RPI) schedule the remainder of the way. Hard to see how they do not finish with a #1 seed resume (but stranger things have happened ... like App State win 2/3 from USA). I think that if LSU finishes just over .500 in their remaining games, they are hosting as a #1 seed.
Catching South Alabama will still be extremely difficult. The Cajuns will need some help and need to get it close enough to where they do not need a sweep in Mobile to win the league (doubtful, but not impossible).
I think to be considered as a #1 seed and host, the Cajuns would need to take 3/4 from Southern Mississippi and South Alabama (that might not be enough). I think not doing so likely leaves the Cajuns short on resume ammo given they are likely not a league champion and have a suspect record vs. RPI Top 25 and RPI Top 50 (anticipating Northwestern State finishes outside of RPI Top 50) ... Yes, even with an RPI ranking of say #14 (that Texas Tech give-away haunts). This is also a year where the committee may try to work in a northern team just outside of the RPI Top 16 as a #1 seed and host ... such as Minnesota.
If I had to venture a guess at this point, I would say Cajuns as a #2 seed in Baton Rouge with Tulane and SLU as possible #3 seeds if they finish the season strong (right now both would be out of the field). College Station is also a real possibility. But I see Rice or TCU in College Station as a #2 at the moment.

Any chance of Guillory moving into the Saturday spot in place of Marks? Wyatt has had some shaky outings as of late and Evan had been nails on the weekdays recently.
Agreed. His arrogance has a lot to do with how good of a hitter he is. Not unlike several guys that have played here over the last few years.
I guarantee that a lot of opposing fan bases thought the same way about the majority of our lineup in 2014. Great baseball players are cocky. It's part of what makes them what they are.
Umm yea, whining about a guy being cocky when he's hitting damn near .500 is just being petty. Who gives a ____ how he acts between the lines? As long as he's not doing anything dirty like trying to hurt our players or something I have no problem with it. Matter of fact, I wish he was on our team. We could use some more of the mojo that he brings to the lineup.
And I don't know about the rest of you, but I was genuinely nervous every single time they got even 1 runner on base. It felt weirdly similar to our 2014 squad. You just knew they were getting that guy to 3rd base or in scoring position at the very least. They are dangerous. I don't wan to face them again in 2016.
Excuse me, we made one game and watched the other on TV. He was a clown show. For my wife to make a comment about how much of a tool this guy was, it HAD to be bad. Not to mention, our pitching staff held his punk ___ in check, so he needs to wiggle his ___ back to the SLC. Our guys had swag and they earned their swag. Most of those kids from 2014 went through hell their first years here. Yea, he's hitting .462. Do it in the postseason.
Learn how to act. Respect the game, respect your opponent, and be a man.
Stop. If no one could get me out, I'd be cocky too. He was very complimentary after the game yesterday and seems like a decent enough guy. All other teams probably hated Jace Conrad when he was here, too.[/QUOTE
I call it like I see it. He acts like he's owed something at every plate appearance. He needed to be knocked down a few notches. Obviously you missed his look at me reaction when got caught looking.
He had 2 hits all weekend I think?
The guy is a great hitter and the southland is a good conference but it's still the southland.
Did you seriously just compare arguably the most selfless guy to ever play at the Tigue to Jameson Fisher? GTFO.
He had two hits and one of them was an opposite field bomb and didn't the other score two runs? Also, how many times did he walk? 3 times? He was on base probably 6 times this weekend. That's not really being shut down.
And yes, Jace was a very loud and hyper guy who played with a lot of grit. All of us loved him but to every other team he probably came off "arrogant and cocky" because of it.
I watched all three games this weekend and nothing he did offended me, but I also think the unwritten rules of baseball are stupid and I love when guys show passion. I'd take Jameson Fisher on our team in a second.
In case anyone missed it, Ronnie Rantz spilled the beans on who that "other team" was that both us and SLU were trying to schedule before scheduling the series with each other. It was Grambling.
