I thought that after you entered the portal, you couldn't play.

Pretty sure it depends on the team's policy on moving in the portal. And, if the player wants to play.

Interesting.

Given that, I would guess that in-portal players wouldn't appear in a bowl. There's the danger of injury, and the loss of potential money; and because of that, the hiring school (if there is one) might forbid it.

Finally, it's just awkward. The guy has told his team and his coaches he's leaving, it's hard to maintain a strong connection with the other players.

Well, if I was a head coach, which I'm not, I would be telling my players if they want to portal out, they wouldn't get to go to the bowl game...
