You may be right about the NCAA not doing much as a result of closed scrimmage information becoming public. It is an NCAA rule however that information from these is not to be made public. However people in the press who leaked things may get some privileges revoked. Any fans who are aware of what went on generally will not say anything as it is understood things of this nature they learn is to remain confidential. Team may have gained more from a second closed scrimmage vs an exhibition. Contrast to that is a dress rehearsal for a regular game may have benefit. Things like the pregame routine for young guys can be a learning experience. Also, everyone healthy gets to play against outside competition and getting that on film can help the coaches have teachable moments

By the way prices of dome foam have gone up again. $18 for a large(32oz) domestic and $14 for a regular(24oz).
It was also $12 for a medium Dr Pepper and small popcorn.
It gets more and more ridiculous by the year.

Damn that is ridiculous. And they wonder why families can't afford to attend games. They are out pricing the average family.

I suppose they will learn when no one buys anymore. I went once last night.
Re: Basketball game tonight vs. UT Tyler
Well, one thing new is the setup in the NEZ area. As advertised, bleachers are retracted and it is now set up with tables and food for fans that make the appropriate donations.
I cannot remember the last time I’ve bought food at the dome. Was sitting there last night looking at the crowd. I know it was an exhibition.
Seems sports at the non power schools are craving for in person fans. It’s not on Marlin. If you think that, then it’s on Dez at CF. We could get the second coming of John Wooden as a coach, it won’t matter. Look what CBN did and never averaged what Hud did.
It’s the two fold problem, the cost of attending is getting worse each year. The other, the availability of the product on line/tv.
What Mullet paid for a DP and popcorn…try that with a family of 4. Every game. That’s the problem. 14 games, that’s knocking on 900 to 1,000. Personally, I have other things that need that 1k.
Hiring a favorite son…naw, look across the street at CF. It’s the fan’s pocketbook driving the decline.

Woof, looks like it is going to be a long year. These are the types of games we should win 100-40.

We were up by 30-40 for a lot of the game. This team is extremely young but very talented. Starters did not play much but team actually started to pull away even more with younger guys in. Got kinda sloppy halfway through the second half as Tyler started pressing more. These types of exhibitions are what help the younger players get into a rhythm. Youngstown st will be a tough test but I’m sure our players mind frames will be much different come that game. You could tell marlin was not very pleased towards the end of the game and he let the team know at one time out.
