Bids are definitely stolen, earned if you prefer. Teams from any conference who have horrible records steal bids every year. Who's saying a cat burglar isn't working hard? The cat burglar is still stealing.

Bids aren't stolen from people who owned said bids. Should we run the table in lose in NOLA, no one stole our bid. We didn't have a bid until we win the championship or our name comes up on Sunday. Only one team owns a bid from the Sun Belt: the tournament champion. If that's not us, we didn't get it stolen from us. We never owned the bid. Same with leagues that see 6-20 teams winning tournaments.
