I hope it is true; I can't count the number of times I have seen Dwight studying at Edith Dupre Library.
did babb get hurt in the 4th quarter?
Not that I know of, I listened on the internet. All the announcer said was he couln't find Babb on the sideline.
I think that he got hit on his side
Yes Babb hurt his back -a muscle i think- and was out for the last 3 offensive series.Quote:

Even though he was hurt, I thought Babb showed great leadership, helping in the sideline huddles. I will say this, a bye could not have come at a better time.
How true! I did think that Sniewski performed capably, considering the limited amount of playing time he has logged. It will also allow some of the other "walking wounded " to heal.Quote:

An anomaly to be sure.Quote:

Was it just me, or did or punting in the ASU game leave much to be desired?
It is NOT just you ....

LAFAYETTE — As a University of Louisiana senior, wide receiver Bill Sampy had a solid perspective on last Saturday’s sometimes maddening 27-24 homecoming victory over Arkansas State.
The Ragin’ Cajuns led 24-0, then 24-7 at half, then 27-7, but weren’t sure of winning until the final play of the evening.
“The coaches kept telling us at halftime to keep our intensity up,” Sampy said. “In the first half, we had a lot of intensity. In the second half, I think maybe we relaxed.
“There are some things we could have done better, but we came out with the victory.”
Sampy has learned to appreciate the bottom line, something that hasn’t looked too healthy at UL since the school’s last winning season in 1995.
Defeating ASU broke a two-game losing streak and got coach Rickey Bustle’s Cajuns back to .500 at 4-4 with three games remaining.
They resume action on Friday, Nov. 5, with a 9 p.m. ESPN2 home game against three-time Sun Belt Conference champion North Texas, which won its 21st straight league game Saturday over New Mexico State, 36-26.
Despite the momentum gained from victory, it’s a good thing the Cajuns don’t play this week.

Sophomore quarterback Jerry Babb, already No. 5 in school history in passes, completions, yards passing, touchdown passes and total offense, left the ASU game three plays into the fourth period with a twisted back.
He needs time to heal, as does senior safety Antwain Spann, who injured his shoulder in the first half.
Since the Cajuns took care of their bottom line against ASU, they head into an open date in the right frame of mind to make corrections and prepare for the season’s homestretch.
SNIEWSKI STEPS UP — Backup quarterback Luke Sniewski has made things happen two weeks in a row for the Cajuns.
Sniewski, who had just one pass attempt in the season’s first six games subbing for Jerry Babb, was inserted into the Idaho game with UL trailing 38-19.
He promptly led a 93-yard drive in three plays, hitting Kevin Robbins for 63 yards and Ray Givens for a 9-yard touchdown, and finished 4-of-6 for 111 yards.
That provided a flicker of hope in a 38-25 defeat, then last Saturday’s composed performance against Arkansas State was significant.
Sniewski stepped in for an injured Babb with the Cajuns nursing a 27-17 lead.
Twice he took over huddling in his own end zone, with first downs at the UL 2 and 4-yard lines, and was instructed to hand off and play it safe.
But when ASU closed within 27-24 and the Cajuns got to the 23 with the ensuing kickoff, Sniewski fired a momentum-shifting 42-yard pass to Bill Sampy.
He hit 2-of-3 for 50 yards on the drive, which didn’t produce points but consumed valuable time in preserving the win.
Babb is clearly the Cajuns’ team leader, but Sniewski has shown he is a solid option.
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT — The Ragin’ Cajuns suited up 22 seniors for homecoming against Arkansas State.
Of those 22, 10 came to the UL program as junior college transfers.
Of the 22, eight were starters.
RECORD BOOK — Senior wide receiver Bill Sampy now has 112 career receptions for 1,437 yards and 7 touchdowns at UL.
With 9 catches for 143 yards and a score against Arkansas State, Sampy passed Marcus Wilridge (111) for the No. 5 spot in career receptions. He also moved into the No. 6 spot for yardage ahead of David Oliver (1,351), Wilridge (1,422) and Andre’ George (1,425).
No. 5 on the yardage list is Willie Culpepper, at 1,967.
Sophomore Jerry Babb has hit 310-of-542 passes for 3,336 yards and 16 touchdowns at UL.
All those figures are No. 5 at the school, with the TD mark snapping a tie with Lance Domec, Don Wallace and Dwight Prudhomme.
Babb is chasing Roy Henry (325-of-679, 4,656) at No. 4 in three passing categories, and is also No. 5 behind Henry in total offense, 4,793 yards to 3,954.
STRETCH RUN — UL is a combined 28-27 all-time against the final three opponents of the season, 2-6 against North Texas, 7-1 against Troy and 19-20 against UL Monroe.
