Re: 1985 USL Name Trial should Be considered a miss trial....
I would bet it could probably have the possibility of being overturned on appeals do to the fact that the presiding judge should have recused himself as he may have directly or indirectly had a vested interest in the outcome of the court case.
Re: 1985 USL Name Trial should Be considered a miss trial....
The timeframe for any such appeal likely expired long ago. And, being an alum would not be cause for recusal.

You are happy with the way things used to be and we are trying to upset your world. We are William Wallace, George Washington, Rosa Parks and countless others. We are trying to change ideas and attitudes. The status quo never liked that.
So not only are in the same league at Texas, Cal and Alabama, you are now like Rosa Parks and William Wallace? OK then..
As to the Cajun thing, I grew up in Acadiana and live here now. Cajun culture is great but UL was "the Bulldogs" long before they were the rajun Cajuns.
I don't look down on UL or its alumni, but I laugh at the craziness of your militant fans.

Maybe the rest of the universities in the system pressured the conference and the board to rein in UL's use of "Louisiana"? ever think that maybe more people don't want ya'll to have that name than do?
Do you realize it's no different than LSUA&MC's use of LSU? Ever think we don't give a ____ what the people at Tech, UL-M, or McNeese think or want? They don't get a vote in how we are referred to any more than we get to dictate how they are referenced.
But then none of you really care, right? That's what we've been hearing since '84.

And you were the Institute for Learning long before you were LSUA&MC. And we laugh at all of the "not caring" fans like you.
