This is the 4th straight year that the Game 1 (opening day) starting pitcher hasn’t….worked out.

Martinez this year. I guess he can still recover but it isn’t looking good

Last year Jake Hammond. Dude was a reliever and shouldn’t have been in that spot to begin with

definitely trying to throw harder than he could control tonite. He was off balance and his left shoulder was flying open early. The release point was off/late and the ball was low and left. He tried to release early and it went high and right.

He was really in a bad spot, obviously trying to redeem himself and it was another less than good outing. He is a good D3 pitcher and probably not trusting his stuff yet at this level.
