Players haven't legitimatly "played school" in decades aka attended class "in person" every day possible.
What he is refering to, is retaining a coach simply because a player(s) did what he/they are/were supposed to do as students.

51.4 % graduation rate for the university. If our coach had that stat and a conference title every 2 years, you onboard?

Oversimplification. Transfers and drop outs and postponements are counted negativly in the overall graduation rate.
Athletics calculates it slightly differently.

Fair enough but athletes also have different concerns like playing time, etc

But he doesn't have that. He doesn't sniff that. You keep glossing over the fact that you don't get paid $750k a year to "graduate players." They get that money to help make the Univeristy money by WINNING GAMES.
Graduating players is on the player. APR and stuff, I get. But again, athletes have resources that other students don't have. And don't even get my started on advisors taking tests for kids. The whole thing is dirty. The next thing y'all will brag on Marlin about will be he keeps the players alive for 4 years. It's ____ing ridiculous.

No. I want everyone to quit acting like players showing up to class is some type of incentive. It's part of the job.

To be fair, I believe the NCAA does distribute funds to academic institutions based on graduation rates. Probably not as much as a coach making record season ticket sales year-by-year, but there is some incentive to still play school.
But yea, we need to pump some new life into the program. CBM does things the right way, has always represented our program with class, and is a good man. It's just time to move on.

That's another falsehood that gets perpetuated here. Is it classy to pull the stunt he did with TSAB for the NIT a few years ago? Is it classy to constantly berate the refs to the point where he's borderline tossed out of the game? Classy to always come to the press conferences with excuses as to why we can't win? Is it classy to talk ____ about the AD at events, even though he just retained your mediocre ass? Don't even get me started on him interviewing with Tech..

I would never waste my money at that place.
I'm just so tired of the BS with MBB. It should be a shining light for this program and community and instead, people have real contempt for it. From the propaganda, to the social club, to the schedule, to the overall feeling of no expectations... just depressing.
When we signed him to 3 more freaking years, the base just threw their hands up. The numbers don't lie. And here we are again, entering a new cycle of mediocrity. In 3 years, maybe we'll be good enough to compete for a spot in the dance. All the while, the people running the program are comfy and content.
