Re: Limping into post-season
I've seen alot of posts here about Ardoin being tired here and I don't think that is the case. The coaches have been very good this year about not over using pitchers especially early in the season. Most of the discussions about Ardoin being tired have mentioned innings pitched but the really important factor is pitches thrown. Ardoin was on a pitch count for most the the first half of the season and Faught has been all season. Both have left several games this year having not given up a run and having only thrown 100 pitches or less. If you look around the league, this is a little uncommon. Faught has been incredible this year and appears to be getting better every week. He didn't win pitcher of the week once this year because he did not have a complete game which always looks a little better than seven innings. If you want to see a tired arm look at Walters from USA. This kid will probably finish the year with a lot of wins and great numbers but look for serious problems in his future. He has started three games in a week before and don't be suprised if he makes 2 or 3 appearances in the tournament if the Jags win some games and he is pitching well.
Re: Limping into post-season
Once the post season and the conference tourney starts Ardion & Faught both will be ready. These guys are seniors and have big game experience and know what it takes to go to the next level. It is time to rock and roll and kick some big time ~~~. Congrats to Austin Faught on being named Sun Belt pitcher of the year.
