Then they bought the bar for people in red. IIRC, right Mullet?

Yeah except for that $130 tab with all the coors but who can blame them for not wanting to pick up a $130 tab of water?

Unless the university took back over the operations of the Cajundome.

Ok, I don't understand. The Cajundome is probably the best basketball arena in the state (amateur). If the complaint is that ticket prices are too high BECAUSE Ticket Master charges are too high, and assorted fees, why don't we attack the problem?
If we moved to Blackham do you think ticketing would be different?
I love the Cajundome since its redo; fix the ticket issue and let's put people in there. I think this team could bring in 6k for game(s) this year and that makes for a loud dome.
I would like your reasoning though to understand.

Just an eye test a few years ago.
A lot less structure to support at Blackham.
The Cajundome was built with hoisted panels, Blackham was built with pours and lays from the ground up.
Need to get Helmut on the case!

That is not a bad idea!

He's one of us.

And why would the city allow that? It’s a great deal for the CD. They’re fleecing MBB.

Multiple reasons. We don’t control scheduling. We’re at the whim of CD events. We can’t sell advertising, hence can’t make money off of ads. We don’t control concessions and I don’t think make more than 50% of the revenue on concessions. The building is consistently at 20% capacity and for all the business people in here, a thriving business has to make a certain amount of money per square foot to churn a profit. The energy costs alone might be reason to down size. The environment, even at 50% capacity (which is really is) is severely lacking. It’s not a UL property so can never renegotiate who handles ticketing as long as the CD is using them. (And no hint of that changing anytime soon.)
I can go on, but those are most glaring issues.
Again, having a nice car means absolutely nothing if you can’t afford the gas to drive it.

Maybe that is a good idea. The Cajundome costs the city a large amount of $$$ annually. If UL could/would take it AND be able to not lose money with it AND be able to control ticket costs better I would consider it a no brainer.
