Re: 2020 Football Schedule
Absolutely sure the fleur d leis don't want any part of TECH anymore...
Re: 2020 Football Schedule
After doing a little research, the following schools have an open date.
Army
Air Force
SMU
UCF
Old Dominion
SMU and Air Force are both traveling to two non conference opponents in 2020. UCF has two non conference home games and two open dates on their schedule in 2020.
If Maggard can pull off bringing UCF to Cajun Field, that would be amazing!

Add this to the fact that Army is a pre-season Top 25 team and Monken is a terrific head coach and you are setting yourself up for failure ... at home.
I'd say we are setting ourselves up for an exciting game then. Against a preseason top 25? Isn't that what we are constantly _____ing about? Getting quality opponents to play us at home? I'd love to see that.
Re: 2020 Football Schedule
I appreciate and understand this point of view. I agree with most of it, except when it comes to triple option teams. Stay away from Army and Navy, in general. Give me Boise, UCF, ODU or any other somewhat regular (for these times) offense.
I think it is important to get good quality opponents at home, but I think it is much more important to win every home game. That is my opinion.

Well, its hard to be ultra picky about getting quality opponents to play us on our home turf. The pickings will always be slim and the triple option does give some people issues but if it was that hard to crack, everybody would run it. Not that Army is a legit option for us but I say bring them on!
Re: 2020 Football Schedule
Considering we have two Army bases (Fort Polk, & Camp Beauregard) within driving range I think we could have a very large turn out. just my $.02

I would not count Camp Beauregard as what we normally consider an Army base. It is home to the Louisiana National Guard, our week end warriors, who would mostly lean toward LSU.

La Tech beat Navy in a bowl game a couple of years ago. Are you saying that you don't think that we should be willing to face the same level of competition that our rivals to the north play and win against? I don't agree at all. I don't think we should avoid playing anyone, especially opponents with the name recognition of an Army or a Navy.
