Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 19, Georgia Southern 3
Big old swing of the momentum.
Yeah, we burned LP. But the win was so massive. It’s a 3 game lead with 5 to go. That’s so huge. It’ll take a massive collapse to not win the conference now.
Breathing room.
But you play loose like you did tonight? No stopping you.

Win 2 series, win the title, regardless of what Troy does
With a 3 game lead and 5 games left, wouldn't 3 wins win it?

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 19, Georgia Southern 3
3 is the magic number of Louisiana wins plus Troy losses

Hey Georgia Sothern, the Blew Bayou Boys got it done tonight.

Texas State provides some assistance by shutting out Troy, 6-0.

Why you think he had no notice? I'm sure HE knew what was going on. We didn't know.
Maybe someone above is right... stretching him out for potential starting role in a regional?

He has 7 outings of 3 or more innings. He had 4 weekends of multiple appearances. He ain’t getting that in with 20 to 30 pitches. He started the year as a starter.

Southern Miss also 3 games back... but we have the tie-break against them. SM has 2 more vs. ASU (likely finish off the sweep there) and then home vs. Texas State to wrap up the regular season...

I’m sure Deggs only told Marshall he was starting and no other pitcher had any clue what was going to happen tonight.
It was a masterful night of pitch coaching and you just posted with your pants down.

You are quick to criticize without knowing. He has more 65+ pitch outings than he does 30- outings.
Langevin has thrown 65+ pitches eight times this season. He started three games (Vandy, Tulane, and Arkansas State). This was not even his longest outing of the season. He threw 102 vs. Tulane. He has outings of 69, 80, 102, 68, 71, 56, 65, 75, and 97. If he suffers an unfortunate injury, it will not be because he is not accustomed to throwing the number of pitches he did tonight.
And of course Langevin knew the pitching plan going into the game. Geez.

Man you really should pay more attention instead of coming on here just to say stupid stuff.
1. Tonight wasn’t Langevin’s highest pitch total of the season.
2. Coach Deggs said they were trying to “keep him stretched out” because it’ll be needed going forward
3. He’s had outings of 65, 69, 71, 75, 80, 97 and 102 this season. He carries a starter’s workload without starting the games
Pay attention.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 19, Georgia Southern 3
Good lord he went 97 tonight..
I get it. He CAN go longer but man that's such a weird risk to take to bounce him back and forth between 20 pitches and 60+

Teams all across the country use guys like that. Every year. Pitchers today are gonna get hurt when it’s their time to get hurt. In high school, college, the minors, or in MLB.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 19, Georgia Southern 3
Moving on from that, what a great performance from the Cajuns tonight.
People always say that watching baseball, you’re likely to see something you’ve never seen before in nearly every game. I’ve watched, played in or coached thousands of baseball games. I cant recall ever seeing 3 pinch hit HRs in a game…much less in a single inning!
Edit: I guess Broussard’s wasn’t actually a PH Homer because he has entered the game defensively the inning before. But it was his first AB

That's what I'd be doing.

Re: BB G1 Final: Louisiana 19, Georgia Southern 3
I can remember the Saints putting 63 on Indy back in '11 and us (Cajuns FTBL) putting 70 on Texas (Southern, Christian, Baptist?) couple years back but I have no recent or distant memory of us (BSBL) crossing the plate 19 times.

You missed the regional against Maine last year?

I believe our coaching staff is preparing our team for postseason play.
Too bad some of our fans are better coaches than they are.
