Sorry but I didn’t see anyone choking or hitting our players. Mr. Beard clearly hasn’t been teaching them the finer aspects of domestic basketball.
It didn’t make the slightest difference in the game, but in the second half I saw the zebras totally ignore a Longhorn foul when a Texas player blasted through one of our players back. Not a near miss, a solid blast. Happened just before they decided to give Charles a technical foul for being too rough.

Agree . . . if we got a fair shake, it would have been a different game . . .

Just going with the flow during the Christmas season. People here like going with the flow better and this time it is in support of my university, players and coach . . .

I’ll have to take your word for it. I wasn’t able to watch and figured it would be a blowout. Like I said before a Chris beard system will run circles around Bobby ball, refs helping or not. I’ve heard jay walker say that this team is just as good and talented as the 17 team. I don’t see it. Actually it’s not even close. It’s Jordan brown and everyone else.

We have good talent. It is coaching. If we had ball movement finding an open man like Texas and quit dribbling into trouble and playing an isolation game, we would be much improved.

Re: Final: Louisiana 72, Texas 100
I keep reading the same crap. Year 13 and we still have people that don't see the trend. EVERY time we play decent to good competition, they shoot the lights out. There is a reason for that. We have a defensive specialist coach that has very rarely fielded a good defensive team. Do people realize this?
Honest question, because obviously I didn't watch that embarrassment: How many of those shots were contested or with hand in face? Texas shot over 50% from the field and 54% from 3. How many of those shots were wide ass open?

I watched the first half, then after 4 consecutive turnovers to start the second half, I switched to the NOLA bowl. We've played better defensively this season, but we couldn't match their speed and athleticism which lead to too many open shots. And the same on the other side of the court, they contested our shots and circled the wagons on JB.
JB has to do a better job our finding the open man when doubled, because that's all he's going to see in conference. Our guys must have good spacing as well to make this work.

Spacing?!? HA! I've been asking about spacing (along with VObserver) for a decade.
I'm not shooting the messenger here, Rick. Didn't want you to take my comments as aimed at you. I appreciate your response.
Many an under-talented team put up fights against the top of CBB. USM beat a top 15 team this year. Miss St just loss to a MVC (I think) team. We remain a disorganized, poorly prepared, immune to adjustments in game, sloppy basketball team. I can't tell you the last time we played good defense; and the calling card of the coach is defense. That should tell people something.
I won't harp on it because I've largely been disconnected. But all i see all over social media is "10-1!!!" and "believe the hype!!!" It's the same damn propaganda we've seen here for 13 years. We just got WAXXED by a team who had their coach in JAIL! Controversy all over the place. And we couldn't even compete. I feel bad for the players, I really do. Because we have a talented roster that plays hard. This isn't on the players.

Yet I’m the bad guy for wanting Baghdad Bob gone.

Re: Final: Louisiana 72, Texas 100
It’s the same vicious cycle. Play a bunch of small schools, win, boost the record, brag about it, and then get waxed by a team with a pulse. Wash, Rinse, Repeat…
Going into yesterday’s game, the combined record of the D1 schools that we have beaten was 34-41 (34-48 if the losses to us were included). That’s not emotion, that’s not a “stance”. That’s not an “agenda”. That’s basic data.
I don’t care how many 3-pointers Texas made. How many shots did we miss? How many turnovers did we have? How many times did we airball and have Texas score on a transition?
It’s the same song and dance year in and year out, and nothing has changed.

Re: Final: Louisiana 72, Texas 100
A combined record of 34-48 and the highest NET ranking of any victory COMBINED was Wofford before Drake beat Miss St two nights ago.

Our guards are TINY. They can’t stay in front of anyone and get bullied off the dribble. Garnett is a good shooter but has to be the tiniest 2 guard in the country. Brown can’t protect the rim. We have to help so much off the dribble because of this and teams will continue all year to get wide open looks shooting the ball. We will have to outscore everyone to win games in conference.

Re: Final: Louisiana 72, Texas 100
In college basketball, scoring centers are nice to have. Shooting guards are an absolute necessity.

Sounds like a carbon copy of every team we've had here for 13 years (2017 the only exclusion).

He sure loves the undersized guards.

Re: Final: Louisiana 72, Texas 100
Point guard play, consistent shooting guards we don’t have. FT shooting lacking until crunch time, then we hit. This game got under 50 point lose because UT stopped playing for reskin last five minutes.
We don’t have athletes or position players to play at their level.
Looking forward to seeing how we compete on road in Belt. Based on Belt play last night, we might be very competitive. Really bad night overall.

Dude, their speed and ball movement was impressive. We looked like a high school team compared to them

Sounds like a 1 seed v 16 seed type of game.

This right here. I’ve been screaming it for years. If every team with a pulse we play shoots the lights out, what does that tell you? We’re the most unlucky program in CBB history? Hell no. It should tell you that our defense is trash. Or at the least our defensive scheme is trash. If you believe that we just keep having bad luck with teams shooting well against us then I have ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

Correct Jacob. Texas is an excellent team with lots of talent in all positions. They shoot it especially well at home. I would have liked for us to slow them down at the beginning before letting them get hot but they are tough and they destroyed Gonzaga on that same court. I've seen them play 3 or 4 times now and they can be a contender at the end of the year.

Actually, that wasn't a butt kicking. UNO was lingering around 12-13 points at the 5 or 6 minute mark. They also got the raw end of some poor officiating and had guys pick up fouls and foul out on crappy calls.
