It's the main reason baseball has no mega stars on par with the NBA or NFL
Maybe because you live within the TV viewing area of the Astros. If you really want to watch the Astros, subscribe to a TV provider that has the station they play on.
I'm sure MLB has done the math and the TV contracts are not holding them back. Not financially at least.

AT&T sports on Uverse and offer no stand-alone way of viewing and not spending $150 a month on it when I can watch every Saints and Pelicans game on Hulu Live for $40.
MLB has never figured out how to market themselves like NFL and NBA, why Trout & José Altuve are not household names and Lebron and Rogers are

That is an estimate of course. The cap for this year is $109 million. Next year, it will be at $115 million. The "decline" that everyone keeps mentioning and where they are wrong is that the previous estimate had the new cap over $116 million. The reduction in the future estimate is perceived to be through the debacle that occurred in China and subsequent lost revenue. All of a sudden, the game is dead.......
Estimate is actually closer to 200 million

According to YouGov’s ratings of active sports personalities, 91 percent of Americans have heard of LeBron James and 88 percent have heard of Tom Brady, but only 43 percent have heard of Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels, baseball’s best player.

You are not wrong but longevity is partially responsible.
Rookie:
Brady 2000
James 2003*
Trout 2009
* His national hype show began in high school.

There are specialists now in the NBA that make their living at the 3 point line but there are a lot of players that are using the mid range now because of the defense at the arc.
You mentioned GSW. Those players you mentioned are also heavy mid range users as well. Durant was one of the leaders in mid range attempts in his time there and Klay shoots from the elbow often. It was not dead, it was just underutilized but like you said, you have to have the personnel to be shooting all the outside shots, especially when you are passing up open mid range shots for them.
I guess stating mid range is dead is an oversimplification. I know the NBA guys still use it but that is somewhat because of the line being further out. Maybe my point is teams don't utilize it enough, especially in college. In fact, that is one philosophical difference I have with this coaching staff. I think they use the three too much when some mid range shots are open. Jalen Johnson has a nice mid range game for the Cajuns for example. Tonight he was 8 for 17 but 0 for 5 from three. Good example of a guy who should shoot less threes and take the mid range more frequently. Some of the fouls Cedric Russell drew tonight were actually on mid range shots. I think Zephyr and I are in agreement in that the mid range shot should be utilized more.

You think Hitler was the most popular of all time or a pedo ??? Think you are confusing popularity and being famous / infamous

I will always believe that the best shot is an open shot. If its an 18 footer so be it. Your chances are always higher of hitting the shot that is open. This is why analytics are unlike the mid range shot as they are overused. The Pelicans are a prime example. Gentry comes over after being an assistant for GSW and we want to go fast tempo and a 3 or inside offense. The problem is that we had and still have guys who are 30% shooters attempting 6 or 7 3's per game. I feel that a lot of coaches just employ this style blindly and do it at times at the sake of their personnel. Our team is NOT a team that can live at the 3 point line. We aren't. We don't have the best shooting team out there and we need to take our shots when we can get open looks. Honestly, this has been one of my biggest gripes with Marlin.

Bottom line fact not in debate. People, people from every background worry way more about their own income than the future of anybody.

Trouts net worth is about $630 million as a pro athlete but can go out to dinner without most people even knowing who he is...sounds like a f’n genius to me

This has nothing to do with the salary cap which is what you and others were arguing. So yes, i've read the article and I already acknowledged that there was going to be damage from China which is why the original "PROJECTION" was reduced to $115 million.

That is correct, I was just befuddled as to why you would disagree with yourself.
