Worries me that he's never received offers above MAC, CUSA or SBC, and his 3 years eligibility could drive Fields elsewhere.
If he has 3 years of eligibility left and manages to be so good that he drives other qb's elsewhere, is that not really a good thing at the end of the day?

If you are scared to compete with a former walk on you have no place in FBS football

I thought his JC video was impressive. Looked like he had the arm strength to throw something other than a back shoulder fade. Just like we one day hope to have a coach leave for greener pastures, let’s hope we have a QB transfer to another FCS program because he can’t see the field for us.
Bottom line UL has never had too many good players. Hope at least one of these QBs works out.

Didn't watch his JC video, but in his high school video he was not only making long throws accurately, he made plenty of them while scrambling out of the pocket. And when he ran, he was fast and elusive and let his blockers do their jobs instead of trying to outrun the pack. High school, but still.
I watched McDowell's film the other night and he made plenty of long throws but there were few where he hit the reciever in stride, most had to slow or alter their run to make the catch. Didn't seem to be the case with Bennett.
Time will tell. I'm with you, the more competition the better.

Here we go again. One of the Anti-Fields 3 at it again. Yll know who you are. Y'll just don't quit do you. He's coming here, it is obvious our coaches see something in him, so Please and give the kid a chance.

Gotta trust Napier with QB eval
Re: Football starters in 2019
He looks exciting at least. Hope it transfers to the d1 game. Very manziel, mayfield type.

With that being said FU!

Neither did Moore at App. State or Troy's QB.

Bennett has 3 years to play, so UL will have a young QB to groom. The one thing he has going for him is he practiced against some of the best athletes in the SEC for one season. Even as a scout team QB, he faced superior talent to the SBC which will help in his development. As I stated before, he has all the tools for the job. But I'm not ready to anoint him the savior, only saying his has more tools than anyone on the roster right now.

Competition at every position is essential !!
Re: Football starters in 2019
Is Deweaver out of the mix now? Did he commit elsewhere?

Yes and DeWeaver is holding all the cards. He doesn't need to sign early while waiting on a few new offers.

I really like what I saw on Bennett's JC videos as well. Run left or run right he still throws it well, good pocket presence, great downfield running allowing his blockers to help where possible. His throwing motion is unorthodox, but if he's accuracte, he can throw it from between his legs for all I care.

Who are the other 2 I’ve not seen anyone suggest fields shouldn’t be offered to play here.
Re: Football starters in 2019
Anyone remember what happened when we brought in 2 highly touted juco QBs in Danny Depace and Jason Sanborn?
