Guilty as well.
I truly thought Elfrid Payton & Shawn Long’s success would attract (consistent) talent here.

I think what angers me the most about this is our program's perceived lack of standards. Like to what point do you need to drag your program to before you make a positive change?

When a player leaves for mcneese. That should be the final straw.

When we lose by 29 points to a mediocre Southland team in front of 200 fans and have a 2-9 record.

After an NCAA appearance last year some fans pretty much guaranteed that under the current staff, UL wouldn’t have another decent team for 5 years and wouldn't have another NCAA team for 9 years.
Give the current head coaches age, he should have gone out on one of his peaks at the end of last season. He wasn't lilely to have another.
Re: MBB Final: Louisiana 45, Lamar 74
In the previous 50 years, we have had less than 10 wins twice.
06-07 Robert Lee team won 9 games--that team had Ross Mouton, David Dees, Elijah Milsap, Adam James, Tyren Johnson
94-95 Marty Fletcher team won 7 games--that team had Bryan Collins, Barry Bowman, Reggie Poole, Kelvin Price, Chris Snowden
I don't think we will get to 7 wins this year. The team is starting to show frustration with each other on the court. Several times yesterday Garnett was frustrated with teammates and showed it on the court. We don't have an alpha dog on this team--there is no dominate leader. When we get behind or we start facing adversity, we break down and don't play as a team. Two of my favorite players in the Marlin era have been EP and Jay Wright--both hated losing, had a drive to win. I think Garnett has this but doesn't have the skillset of either of those players--no other player has shown that competitiveness.

Might as well move our games to a nearby elementary school gym. Why staff, AC/Heat and light a 10k arena for 100-150 people. It would save a few K per game
Then hand al $ saved to Marlin simply to leave early.

I think you mean Mrs. Maggard. Dr Savoie’s wife passed away.

Today is as good as any day for the move. It’s often said people shouldn’t be fired at holiday time. Two points, nobody is hired with the thought of said hired being fired. Second, look at a calendar and pick a good day. Millions of supervisory people would love that answer. There isn’t one.
Bob Marlin, the man, is a fine individual. The coach, time has passed.

Yeah, I have resisted this for a while feeling that it was usual fan BS and always looking for the next coach, etc. Over the last couple of seasons, I have started to agree and now it is in full bloom. I appreciate Marlin as a man and the time he has given to UL but it is time to move on. I think the game has just passed him by. But no to BB. Lots of other options out there. Curious if there is someone on staff ready to move up.
Was last night the lowest point of the program in recent years? Certainly feels like it.

No. Just no.
You’ve got to bring in someone fresh to try to bring fan support back.
Simply promoting someone up from the current staff is just staleness.
