Maybe I’m alone in this opinion, but if halfway through the season we don’t see ourselves as legit contenders to win the conference, then we need to get folks Winfield meaningful snaps to see what we have. No sense in keeping him on the bench trying to get a 6-6 bowl birth.

That’s not how this works. Coaches want to win. They get paid to win. They have incentives to win. They play the pieces needed to win.

I did preface it with saying I’d be alone in that opinion. I’m well aware coaches’ priorities are different than mine. I’d selfishly, should we be at such a point in the season, find out what we really have in our QBs for 2025 and beyond.
