Re: MBB LGT Final: Louisiana 85, Wright St. 91
We will be fine. Wright st is no pushover.
Not having a true big to suck up every rebound will be the Achilles heel for this team, but 3 pt shooting and high pressure defense will be able to get this team out of jams.
My personal take is to try and play at a faster offensive tempo and force their bigs to run the floor and wear them out, many teams in college basketball cannot defend high tempo which will create shots on the wings for our shooters. This team is gritty and will find ways to win ballgames.

High pressure defense means fouls, and we have no depth. And giving up all those offensive rebounds makes us get multiple stops every time down. Its not a good recipe for success.

very true, but we cannot just sit back and trust our bigs like we did last year, this is a completely different team.
Opponents (excluding LCU) have shot 7-44 15% from 3 against us (LCU was 0-10). If Marlin is able to find a way for our guys to deny the entry pass to the opponents bigs we are able to force tough shots.

Did anyone read this? The silence is deafening.

Unless he is willing to play Hardy and Fields meaningful minutes, its going to be a waste of a season. He already burned the red shirt on the 2 of them, might as well give them all of Butler's minutes. Fields will be very very good for us. Now is the time to learn in non conference.

Hardy should be on the floor at minimum 10 minutes IMO. I know these games “count” but since the meaningful games happen in March we need to get these young guys as much experience as possible. Ratliff included.

Toledo would’ve been a bad loss. Wright state really was not that bad. ____ they hung with Indiana without their best player

You are your record. If a team in the SEC lost every conference game by one point they would be awful. Quality of wins is important and the win is also.

Tank and Turbine doesn't think so.
