Re: To Portal or not to Portal ...
I think the obvious answer is we have to portal. I think what's going to eventually end up happening is the NCAA is going to have to place some restrictions on how much a player can use it during their career. Like someone else said, we can't survive simply being a farm system for P5 programs. We need to go after players that they have sitting on the bench or playing in limited capacities. If they're going to recruit from us, we should recruit from them.

You show me how much a player is making at UL if you think those that are paying are telling everyone. The admin didn't even know what Amos was making at UL.
Re: To Portal or not to Portal ...
With most p5 focused on snagging up G5 or other p5......ive noticed p5 JUCO signings are way down. IMO JC is UL's best opportunity for bringing in experienced talent in current climate. Especially true if l the JC started at a G5/P5.....The 2nd D1 transfer rule recently added comes into play. Can't portal again as an undergrad without sitting out a year.
Any P5/G5 and some FCS portals that has any above avg on field potential is a bidding war we can't win. In past year SLU had portals we could have used.....our chances were at or near 0%

UL->JS->CU.
Why finding JCs that started at D1 level are lower risk signings. Can't use UL for 1 and done without sitting out a full year.....unless they happen to graduate in year 1 at UL.

I'm saying Colorado and himself thought he would be eligible right away with the waiver due to Looney passing away which was why he transferred from here in first place.
Re: To Portal or not to Portal ...
How long ago did he transfer? Looney passed away a couple of years ago, and he stayed for at least two years. I can see why they denied his transfer.

Did he sit out last season or go to another team? I don't understand why he could not play this year.
