Mike Trahan recruited most of that team, I believe.

Why? You don't wait for holes to fill. You recruit for the future and to create competition for lineup spots. That's when you see players reach their full potential.

I think a better way of putting it was that Trahan recruited the 2012 team as well ! Matt Deggs went out and got Ryan Wilson, Dex Kerjstad, Seth Harrison, and Caleb Adams within a 2 1/2 month period to come in for the 2013 season. I think [not positive] that he also got Carson Baranik [again not sure]. Nonetheless, he went out and got some studs in a short period of time.

That's better, looking forward is massively more productive.
Before, you were reverse projecting to fill 2014 holes that frankly weren't gaping.
There is zero doubt that this team does not compare. But identifying holes in a #1 ranked team (5-years on) is fruitless.

I was not disagreeing with you.
My point is that I expect successs, and then see a coaching staff and athletic department do everything possible to build on the type of success we experienced in 2014. I agree that on a whole, it appears what was gained was mostly squandered away.

I think you are correct.

But he’s using a portion of a scholarship, so you’ve got to consider him good, or bad.

2014 was lightning in a bottle, won’t be easy to do again if ever, that team was historic..not just here but in history of college baseball. Right now we need to figure out how to get back to 2005,2007,2010,2015,2016. That seems really far away at this point.

Update: I’ve seen you answer the same time I did. In that case, maybe LaHare only due his attitude.
While he broke in quickly, Lahare was not even in the starting lineup for the first game against Texas last season.

Does anyone know if Horton is actually hurt or just got pulled from the rotation for poor performance?
