According to the November 5th 2011 addition of the GEAUX Magazine (game day program) Surgent was a So on that date. He played as a fresh under bustle.

Surgent was on the 2010 roster. He was part of 2010 class that Bustle brought in.

No both played as true Freshmen for RB. Butler tore his ACL in his first August camp with Hud and missed the entire season.
