Has anyone hear an updated number? I'm hoping we hit the 20K by now.
Gents, a ticket sales rep told my mom that they had 16K by Thanksgiving day.
I got my call this morning. I will pick them up at noon and ask. If they tell me I will post.
It may have been posted already somewhere, but does anyone know the NO Bowl attendance record?
2008 USM vs. Troy 30-27OT 30,167
2009 MTSU vs. USM 42-32 30,228
2010 Troy vs. Ohio 48-21 29,159
I think we can blow the record out of the water. Really wish SMU would get the opposite bid. Maybe Tulsa.
I wonder how many New Orleans residents make it a point to go to the New Orleans Bowl no matter who is playing in it?
Billy just said that we're up to 16,000
I was told we are at 16k screaming Cajun fans as of today.
I don't know if this has been posted, but Rivals.com has UL playing Ball State in the New Orleans Bowl. What do you guys think about this potential matchup? Would you guys like this matchup? What chance would we have of winning if we played them?
Not many. I was working in NO and went to dinner say some N Texas fans, got to talking they were there for the game that night, it was a ghost town.
I'd be happy with Illinois or Purdue. Work next to a Purdue grad and have met several other Purdue alums over the years. They would travel 10x better than any MAC opponent. One of these two would ensure a blow out attendance record occurs.
We have a nice list of all the bowl projections in one thread going. I put it in a nice hard to find place.

Got 7 today; every ticket matters. It may be late, but a struggling student had to wait until the monthly pay-check came. I really don't care where I sit. All that matters is that UL is in a bowl!
I know of plenty of others buying some in the near future.
Does the Sunbelt have a shot at 4 Bowl Teams this year???? I'm particularly looking at:
W. Kentucky in the Compass Bowl (Birmingham, AL)
&
FIU in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl (St. Petersburg, FL)
Coincidently, Bowling Green is 258 miles from Birmingham. Miami is 258 miles from St. Peterburg. Both schools
averaged ~ 16,500+ in home attendance. I believe they both fit a better possible match-up than some of the 6-6 schools. Any seconds?
Back when Lafayette either had no curfew or when the drinking age was 18 . . . I not sure which . . . UL was a favorite destination for New Orleans students.
Point being (I think) there are a lot of UL Alumni that don't make it back to the Lafayette area very often, but will make it to a UL appearance in the New Orleans Bowl. Provided they still live there.
