Jake couldn't have won last night. We just got whipped. Plain and simple. It happens.

I've got a theory, but will bite my tongue for now. Let's just say I hope he's a Cajun next season.

With Ben and Chandler likely out, it's gonna be all on Beale in the bowl game.
This would be the time to implement some wildcat type packages with Legendre to take some pressure off of Beale IMO
Legendre is the best athlete on our offense. It would be nice to unleash that ability in his last game

Not sure how much success we will have crafting an offensive line out of the portal though. Those guys will command top dollar. That's why when you've got a line full of experience and leadership (guys you've built up from high school) you need them to perform. That group got their tails whipped last night.

They definitely had the luck on their side tonight on several passes....who knows, it could have flipped the momentum. Doubt it would have changed the final result.

He's gone, we all know it, but he was still on the team last night. Use that stud while you can. I'd imagine he won't be playing in the bowl game.

Not my entire theory, but part of it.

What if Ben returns.

Bull____. We lost our starter, who was already the backup. A true freshman got thrown in there. It killed our offense which impacted our defense. I love when old farts who didn’t go lay it on the line get on here and ____ on other people’s “effort”. How about use some sense, see what happened, and realize sometimes stuff doesn’t break your way. Be a supporter, not a constant source of negativity.

Sat next to Ben's Dad last night. Ben plans on starting the bowl game. Dude has 4 pins and a steel plate holding his clavicle together. As most know, the injury was on his left side, not his throwing side.
IMO, having BW on the field last night would have made a difference in the final score....with an outside chance of a win with a few breaks going our way. Like those tipped balls that never landed in our hands. With Ben, we would have moved the ball a bit better, moved the chains better and helped our defense get some rest between series.
Also, he would have been given the freedom to check in and out of plays at the LOS which he did very well all season. But, without a run game it would have been an uphill battle.
Beale was throwing high all the passes where he could step into the throw. As Turbine mentioned, the adrenaline was flowing and I'm sure the game was moving 100mph for him. On the few plays were he got a couple of seconds of pass protection, he struggled going thru his reads, which is understandable for a true FR. The play list got very limited once CF left the game. Competition at QB this spring will be intesting!
