I understand your being fair to the hire. My question, though isn't about the hire per se but about the statements made by the admin, board members and their supporters who emphasized that this hire had to be a fundraiser first and foremost because we need that so badly with the implication that this was our only chance. Only now we hear that they are already anticipating hiring others to work under this ED (which is what we anticipated would happen under Hale). If the plan all along was to hire additional fundraisers it seems to take away the argument that pure fundraising had to be the focus of the ED hire and disregard all the "Additional Requirements" aspect of the job.

*Steve Hale stated last night that Benson's comments are proof that he is not living in reality. He stated a SBC team has no chance to be in the Access Bowl and a number of publications including Athlon and USA Today has stated the same thing.
No, he didn't. He stated that no SBC team will run the table and make the PLAYOFF. While true, that is not what Benson said. Benson said we could run the table and make the Access Bowl slot. That is very true. Not guaranteed, but very possible. Ask NIU.

It is true.....I don't care much for our AD. Dead weight, he needs to be called out for the liability he truly is to UL.
I said my peace.
Just wanted to understand what this error was? Is this one of the reasons we haven't seen that contract come to fruition? Can you point me in the direction of article(s)

He mentioned recently that he had been in contact with AAC. Per Steve, Mike Aresco has NEVER spoken to Farmer or anyone in this Athletic Department, nor do any of the presidents recall receiving a single piece of correspondence from UL offices. Why don't you write to Scott and ask him that yourself, and then ask what exactly was sent and if he could provide some sort of validation; because I know you like proof.

Yep, because we are NIU right? He said he heard Bensons comments at the Sun Belt Media day and he is not living in reality. I was there, so heard exactly what Benson stated. You can choose to believe what you want, but I will go with the word of someone that is in the middle of college football discussions daily at the highest level, and which has been mimicked by publications like Athlon's and the USA Today College Football publication over Mr. Benson and our esteemed athletic director.

I would love to know who asked Hale to not do the radio interview.

He won't answer that question. My guess, one of his friends on the RCAF Board.

Worked for the necksters. A promise is as good as the actual investment.

Nope, and it will never have a fair opportunity. A 11-2 Boise State or Cincinnati team will always get that slot over any SBC program.
