Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
Alright. So who is our BIGGEST threat in the West? The East? The CFP picture?

Somebody more knowledgeable, please correct me, but I think there could only be one ranked team in the MWC and AAC championship games, and those teams would have to lose the championship game. I believe that is necessary but not sufficient.

How can UH play but rice can’t? To your point is a couple miles away!!

ULM lost if south loses to Georgia southern tonight and we win on homecoming we would have a 2 game lead over the whole conference with 3 games to play. Need to win out obviously to have a shot at the playoff. As far as the East, it’s wide open. No idea who’s coming out of it. I still think JMU is probably the best team overall in the east but not by much.

Ark state biggest in the west.
Marshall or JMU biggest in East. The East is a mess with the standings and whats left on the schedule.
Boise clearly and far ahead for the CFP spot, need them to lose the CCG to even sniff the spot. maybe UNLV depending on how the committee feeling about them if they knock off Bosie( assuming CSU is not playing in the CCG). the AAC is a gray area that will take the full regular season to play out. Tulane, Army, and Navy are the last 3 in the conversation, but all could lose 1 or 2 times in the Army case before getting to CCG.
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
Army 8-0
Boise and UL 7-1
Navy 6-1 playing rice tonight. Every other g5 has 2 or more losses.

I think if Tulane wins the AAC, they would get in over Louisiana since their two losses were to two P4 teams, and the beat Louisiana.
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
So it’s basically. Win (control the things you can) and let the chips drop (don’t worry about the things you can’t).
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
USA takes the lead over Ga Sou on opening drive of 2nd half. 16-14. USA had 1st and Goal from the 1 then imploded. False start, offensive PI, and a hold. Settled for a FG.

The goal ahead is the conf championship. We control our own destiny. The playoff would be an extension of the CC goal.

We will be favored in every game going forward. Football is hard. You can be good and have a crap game. I’ve not watched stAte all, but the other teams we are flat out better than. Winning out is a thing.
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
South Carolina defense came to play against aTm.

Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
If you didn't watch GA Southern/USA, you missed a good one. Eagles held a 1 pt lead at halftime. Jaguars scored 17 in the 3Q, which capped a 27 point unanswered swing for them. On the ensuing kickoff after their second TD of the 3Q, USA went with a strange pooch kick that Ga So returned past the 50. Next play was a 40+ yard TD pass. USA fumbles away the ensuing kickoff. Ga So scores again a few plays later. Ga So forces a punt, and their backup (starter went down early in this drive) led them down the field for the go ahead TD. USA had a shot for a go ahead TD, but their backup QB (not sure what happened with Lopez) got sacked on back to back plays after getting to 3rd and manageable inside Ga So's 20. That implosion I posted about earlier by USA after getting to 1st and goal from the 1 ended up being huge. 34-30 final. Now if the Cajuns win next Saturday, we will control our own destiny, and be able to drop 1 of the last 3, as all teams in the West would have at least 2 losses.
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
AP 17 KSU, 18 Pitt and 24 Illinois lose.
3 higher ranked teams also lost but probably won’t impact UL.

That South Al game is gonna be a huge test. When their offense is clicking, it's scary. I hope our guys don't breathe too big a sigh of relief after pulling off what they have (winning their last 5 with 4 being on the road). Gotta respond well to the success. 3 of the last 4 are teams we could easily lose to on an off day, and even Troy today showed signs of a pulse.
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
All I know and remember is stAte kicking our tails bigly last year. Also our coaches were clearly outmatched too. They whooped us good all 60 minutes.
Every person in UL's locker room from Des down to the equipment guys needs to also remember.
Re: Games of Interest - Week 10
Navy is out the CFB picture with their loss to Rice.
Memphis is out the CFB picture with their loss to UTSA.

Our UL team has not yet clicked on all cylinders. We are winning by a thin margin. Yet, the potential is there for a dominate performance. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot. Let’s put it all together, at home for the next 3 games, Geaux UL!
