Yeah, the big fella is no Lewis.

Re: Basketball game tonight vs. UT Tyler
I feel like we are are beating a dead horse here cause really nothing we say here is gonna change the way the Cajundome is operated. That said I would like to thank the Cajundome and Sedoxo for making sure I got to work on time and sober this morning. LMFAO. Unlike skeeter I had pulled out my wallet but caught myself when I saw the prices. 5 years ago when beer was $9 I would just laugh and buy everyone a round. I would drink at least 4 myself and then go on to make more pour decisions later that night.
We talk about affordability but there is more to it than just that. Almost everyone on here who is a die hard fan can afford a night out. It's the value verse cost extrapolated over the entire season. $18 for beer when it takes me at least 2 to get a buzz going. Naw $36 is two cases of ultra or a nice bottle of Jameaux, my cozy big screen and ESPN+. Now I'd missed the great company of the Raging Rowdies but we can make up for it away games which are so much better

It gets more and more ridiculous by the year.
Lol. That is ridiculous
And they haven't even have good beers on draft the last couple of years. Hopefully they don't ____ with the beer setup at Cajun Field or Russo

This is the cost of operating a venue at 1/10 to 1/8 of its capacity on a regular basis.

Incremental chicken egg problem.

Back to the game itself, I was disappointed the Landry kid didn't jack up a 3 in the closing seconds. I know good sportsmanship and all that but if your down 30 and your still run traps and presses at the end like you've been running all half... You really deserve a half court haymaker and Curry scream celebration. Lol.

IDK why, but that seems awfully close considering we were playing a D2 school. Is that just me, or did the Cajuns really not play that well?

Lewis was quite a find. Wish we could have had him another year.

It's so hard to gauge considering the level of competition. The starters were ice cold to start. It's the the subs and the new guys that jump started this team and built a huge lead. Second half UTT was pressing and trapping and we got sloppy. I'd won't judge this team after one exhibition game. Might have to give them a few weeks before we see what this team is

What was the opening line-up against UT-Tyler?

Got a feeling Butler or London Fields will take Garnett's spot in the starting 5 before too long.

Embrace the young roster and start Fulks, Hardy, Fields, Julien, Charles and run run run run. Kitenge will not help.

Agreed. You could try the 40 minutes of hell and sub out every 5 minutes or so

Re: Basketball game Monday vs. UT Tyler
Hosanna had limitations but one he doesn’t have it getting knocked away from his position. He fell on one Tyler player last night. The kid was squashed.

We didn't watch the same game last night then. I thought he looked extremely soft against a very small team. He has no hands and didn't look to fight for rebounding position much at all.

Re: Basketball game Monday vs. UT Tyler
Yep different game. Once he blocked out no one moved him. He cannot jump but has pretty quick feet. I would have not liked to play inside against him. Unless he continues to put ball on the floor. He’s bad at that like most bigs we’ve had. We’ll see how he develops. I think he has potential. Just my opinion.

We had a 25 point lead at half and a 34 point lead at one point in the second half. None of our top 6 guys played more than 19 minutes. We played 12 people and 11 of them scored. Therefore, my recommendation is to draw zero conclusions from the exhibition game. That is not to say some things could not be improved upon. Rebounding being one of them. Personally, I don't think this result is a reason to panic. I would also say not to have optimism had we won by 40 plus. It is an exhibition game which is approached completely different than a regular season game. Note, both St. John's and Louisville lost exhibtion games to lower division opponents in recent days. My guess is they would have won those in the regular season. Tough to draw conclusions from that affair last night.

Mullet, please check your PM's.

Re: Basketball game Monday vs. UT Tyler
. . . If rebounding is the issue, adjustments can be taught . . . just block out . . . surely not much should be taken (positive or negative) from a game where all on the roster have played substantive minutes against a D2 school other than a good learning opportunity for players and coaches

When it comes to dribbling, he makes Justin Miller look like Curley Neal…

. . . Justin Miller has never been given the good wrap that he earned . . .
