Let’s beat UAB. Then Beat Buffalo and we are back on track.

Not like we didn't try to adjust. We threw 3, 4, and 5 man fronts at them. We weren't lightly toasted; they burned us every which way. They flat out-coached us in all three phases. That should not happen to an experienced coaching staff. Place the blame at the top. He is the boss. Sorry, no excuses for happened last night.

All of the above, plus Napier was not a promoter and Des is of the same mold. They do not have a personality that excites fans. HUD, on the other hand, was a great promoter and excited our fan base. That's why we set NO Bowl attendance records and Tailgating was awesome. Napier won, but results only didn't seem to matter. When fans did attend, the fan experience was putrid. It still is and that is never addressed. Napier and Des want to coach and not promote. That works at a school like Florida with an already established but impatient fan base, but not at UL. UL now reminds me of Nebraska, finding a way to lose in the end. Napier won many of the close games at UL. Thus far, Des is not. Napier is finding that more difficult to do at Florida due to expectations there. The only thing saving his job may be his contract buyout. UL's fan base has been allowed to erode and losses like last night due to defensive coaching unpreparedness just add to a further lowering of fan expectations. I'm still pulling for Coach Des. But, being one of only a handful of programs to have kept their entire coaching staff in tact and being unprepared for a fast paced offense by ODU is a grave concern.

If you have a team that finishes 13-1 and no one shows up, the admin should start asking what it is doing wrong instead of blaming the fans/community.

Anyone wonder what stAte fans are thinking.......outscored 110-3 after 2 games. Baldwin Era bad.

Butch gets canned the week before they play us. The interim coach inspires the red wolves and they win by 7 after a furious Cajuns comeback ultimately falls short on a failed forth down conversion.

It's not the fans fault. Game atmosphere, facilities, schedules, is 100% the Admin, team performance is the Coaching staff, specifically the Head Coach. When all of those things are bad, you get poor fan support.

Look I like Mike, but like is not enough. I agree that we screwed the pooch with this hire. Why are we shocked? Cheap hire, cheap results. Too expensive to do a national search.

I agree with your assessment of the program. I like Mike also, but we screwed the pooch with this hire. I thought for sure Lamar would be the scapegoat and fired this morning, but he saved our rear ends last week. I for one will not stop buying tickets or my tailgating spot but that doesn't mean I will give up my Saturdays to watch this debacle. I still have three road trips on my schedule UAB, SoAl and Ark State lord I hope those trips are worth it for me. I guess I'm ok with making a change if that's the route we want to go. I mean we can't slip any further, can we? One last thing the hardest part of this team is the coaching staff not making adjustments like using the portal or in-game adjustments almost like we don't have a clue.

Y’all don’t give up. UL football needs us more than ever to weather this storm. Des is our coach like it or not for at least the next 2 years. Let’s hope he turns the corner, but it is clear he was not qualified to be a HC. Good assistant, good person, Cajun thru and thru but my only hope is that he turns the corner and begins to win these close games because there will be many more close games coming up.

Almost as if it’s intentional. Having to consistently promote and put on a good event for 25k-35k people is too much damn work. 12k-17k is perfectly comfortable for the group responsible.

There's a huge bit of truth in that statement...UL is not going to spend the resources to host 25k+ on a regular basis...

When you’re not a P5 team and NOBODY poaches one or more of your coaches in the off-season, that is NOT a good sign.
