They will still be accepting cash for concessions at Cajun Field.

Did you inquire why the AA newsletter specified that Cajun Field would be cashless?
Maybe someone jumped the gun at the AA. Good news none the less.

Re: Cajun Field going cashless?
The big problem I have with it is sending kids to buy concessions. Maybe one could bring a prepaid (Visa or Mastercard) cards or they could sell them in a vending machine. I would not send my grands to the concession stand with my credit or debit card because sooner or later they would lose one of them. I would give them a prepaid card and tell them to "have at it."

Turbine should update the thread title, but Jay came in and confirmed that cash will be allowed at concessions in Cajun Field.

If it costs money, I hope not.
Save it for the new stadium.

If your income is so unstable as to not have a checking, or savings account you’re probably not blowing money at expensive sports entertainment. I believe both checking and saving accounts have debit cards so we’re not missing many because of the policy.
Perhaps there’s a way to buy a stadium debit card for your kids good only in the stadium. Don’t know if such a thing exists, just seems feasible.

It was supposedly on order and supposed to have been in by the end of last season

As a parent of young kids, I can say…if your kid isn’t old enough to be trusted with your card for a few minutes, then maybe they aren’t old enough to wander around the concession area by themselves.

Well I just got a $15 surcharge at the Vet for using a credit card. But it’s for my beautiful black lab.

We may be men or women but we definitley have a bunch of bit**** on here, and it doesn't matter what the topic is.
If we truly want to build a solid Cajun Nation, we need to start with ourselves, and I do mean myself.
We can do better.
We must do better.

I’ve been to an MLB game where I could put a cc onto a scannable wristband. Want to buy something they scanned the band and away I went. It was really easy to overspend!

First off I don't agree with private businesses not accepting cash and I would definitely back a law in Louisiana requiring businesses to accept cash. However....
From the Federal Reserve's website
Is it legal for a business in the United States to refuse cash as a form of payment?
There is no federal statute mandating that a private business, a person, or an organization must accept currency or coins as payment for goods or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether to accept cash unless there is a state law that says otherwise.

And, I'm sure they'll have the 80,000 armed new IRS employees to enforce it.... just as soon as the IRS agents have finished intimidating all of the little ol' ladies from Ipanema.... (sarcasm off).
