Re: SB G1: Louisiana 2, Texas 10
Our hitting is not where it needs to be. Our hitting coach needs to step up. Pitching is not good.

Re: SB G1: Louisiana 2, Texas 10
We are not a top 35 softball team

Back to back strikeouts looking. A lot of y’all are gonna blame the umps though instead of our offense

Both are to blame

Before this game against the ranked teams we’ve played we’ve been outscored 36-5

She wasnt scheduled to pitch. Game 1 dictated that she needed to pitch due to 4 pitchers pitching in that game. That wasn't part of the game plan.

Credeur cuts the lead to 2 with a homer. Rally time?
Hayden with a 2-out double. 3-2. Graeter pinch hitting for Kean.
K's on 3 pitches...

Re: SB G1: Louisiana 2, Texas 10
Showed some fight at the end. Pinch hit a freshman who strikes out on 3 straight pitches. Don’t fault the decision. You’re playing to get the hit and you go down swinging.
Bottom line is they're just not what Cajun softball fans are used to and it’s not a great feeling. I know Glasco takes losing hard and this is probably tough to watch. But they’re just not a great team. That could change, but right now, watching them play good teams, they’re far away from Cajun teams of the past decades.

I can understand why some people are panicking.
1. This is pretty much uncharted territory for Cajuns softball.
2. They’re not beating anyone special and getting blown out by any team with a name.
3. Pitching has not inspired confidence. We have more pitching changes than a mid week baseball game. There is no clear ace or arm you can rely on with consistency.
4. The lineup has been really good at times, but are pedestrian when facing decent to good pitching.
That doesn’t really make you appealing for an at large.
Landry is the clear ace and the clear consistent pitcher.

When u have 6-7 freshman in a lineup its not going to be pretty all the time. This is D1 softball not travel ball

It didn't look like D1 softball with all the errors and mental mistakes. Schorman pitched very well in the 2nd game. She gives up only 2 unearned runs after an error at 2nd on a routine ground ball. They didn't look ready to play, hard to understand.

UL Softball Loses Back To Back Games To Texas
UL Softball was coming off of a win against Georgia State to start Sun Belt play. They faced the Texas Longhorns Wednesday in a doubleheader. The Cajuns lost both games, the first 10-2 and the second 3-2. Continue reading…

Re: SB G1: Louisiana 2, Texas 10
Even when Lotief had lots of freshmen, they still had lots of fire power in their bats. Where are our bats??
-
Re: SB G1: Louisiana 2, Texas 10
Why haven’t we started Schorman yet? We only bring her in after Lamb has put us behind the 8-ball. She has streaks of bad control from time to time, but she’s dominant the rest of the time. Far better than what Lamb has shown. Lamb has seemingly not improved from last year and that’s very disappointing. It’s time for her to move to the bullpen

Re: UL Softball Loses Back To Back Games To Texas
A few weeks back I stated our team would have to win the tournament to make the NCAAs. I was “greeted” with questions regarding my sanity. All I did was look at our team without wearing vermilion shaded glasses.
There isn’t an OOC lifeline left. As far as the consecutive series wins, means nothing unless it’s a sweep. And all that does is position the Cajuns for the SBC tournament.
The bigger concern is becoming irrelevant…out of sight, out of mind to the softball world. It’s a downward spiral no Cajun fan wants to see. This absolutely needs a fix next year.
We had a burp a few years back and bounced back. We can do it again. But UL needs to be a destination in the portal world to maintain past successes.

Here you go. Lotief always had the cajuns hitting the ball. Now we are blaming umps for everything.

UTA beat #10 OU last night. If you needed to feel worse.

This is simply not true. Lotief had freshmen with potential. It took him a year or two to develop them. Example, DJ Sanders. Her first year here she didn't hit her first home run till halfway through the season. It took a year for her to turn into the player she became.

We will be in a Regional this season. Ignorant statement to say "we'll be lucky to be in as a 4th seed".
We certainly won't be hosting, but we'll be playing in the post-season.
